Refrigerator not cooling

I have a Hotpoint side by side refrigerator, model # HSS25IFMB ww, and the refrigerator is not cooling well. I have it turned all the way up to see if it will help but hasn't. It keeps the food and drinks a little cool, but not cold. I cleaned underneath and in the back to remove the dust, but that did not help either. Any suggestions?

Check in the freezer section by removing the food exposing the rear inside panel. DO you see frost beginning to build upon the rear inside panel of your freezer section? If so, the is a simple defrost problem and can be repaired easily. For testing purpose, st both control to the middle setting and do not move them during the entire testing period. Moving the controls only makes things worse.... Let me know what you find....

Waiting to hear from you,

We had the same problem with our HSS25GDMDWW side by side. Only 5.5 years old. Freezer cold, refrigerator not. Found that the little door on top left connecting the freezer (which actually cools the fridge) was stuck closed. You have to remove the cover. We then shut down the freezer control to and refrig to zero. Brought both back up and then helped manually open the door. Did this a couple times to make sure no more sticking. For two days after that the freezer kept running. I thought we had another problem. But after two days, the temp in the fridge came back to normal and the motor finally shut off. It probably means we will need a new fridge soon, but at least not right now. We already replaced the actuator for the icemaker inside flap which wasn't closing causing the inside to frost up and sometimes melt the ice just enough to make it hard to dispense.

The ice maker water inlet valve has failed allowing water to pass when it is not supposed to pass. The water valve is item 800 of this link.
