Hi and welcome to FixYa,

The described condition could indicate several possibilities:

  • Demo Mode/Store Mode, for some reason you are locked in this mode used for display purposes;
  • weak signals, an external antenna is required and/or relocate/reposition the micro;
  • your current location is not within a DAB reception area hence unit could not pull in the stations;
  • firmware glitch; try unplugging for an extended period of time to revert unit back to factory defaults;
  • firmware fault, since new, it may be to your advantage to seek replacement from the point of purchase.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

The faint sound, like voice or pike program from somewhere is an interfeerence problem related to a bad shielding inside the unit, or a problem with hearphones cable.

The unit is probably defective , and in this case you do not fix this with settings.

Hi!

Please scan for all stations and save them first, then select them else they will not be saved and you have to retune each time.

Thanks

    I think if that is not the case then your tuner is bad and you need to get your tuner checked.

Cable in my area has switched to digital cable. I own a Hitachi HDTV about four years old. When I scan my channels it will only scan analog channels...the digital channels are an option but I don't...

Unfortunately, you need a set-top box. The Hitachi 65F59 has an ATSC (digital OTA) and NTSC (analog) tuner. It doesn't have a clear-QAM (unencrypted digital cable) tuner.

There are a few DVR set-top boxes with QAM tuners that you can buy separately. (You will need to make sure a given model is compatible with your service. FIOS uses a different option on the Cable Card than other providers.) Alternatively, you can get a cable box from your company.

Retrevo has the manual for this Hitachi TV here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Hitachi-65F59-TVs-manual/id/371ci977/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to access the PDF.

If you want OTA HD, you will need to determine the correct antenna for your area and the direction to the transmitters. (External antennas pick up more stations. In some areas amplification may be needed to get a good signal.) See antennaweb.org or tvfool.com for searches on the appropriate antenna to get a signal and where to point the antenna. Antennaweb assumes an external antenna but is very conservative in the received channel list. You would need to set the TV signal input to Air and rescan for channels if you choose to go with the OTA signal.

I wish that I had better news for you.

I bought HDTV/UHF/VHF/FM INDOOR PASSIVE ANTENNA please help me to install it it is not working

Is the antenna the correct one for your environment? Do you have the antenna pointed at the stations you want to receive? Use antennaweb.org or tvfool.com to get an idea of the location and likely channels you can receive at your location. Antennaweb assumes an outdoor antenna but is very conservative in the list of channels you can receive. (These may match the limits of the indoor antenna.) TVfool lists the stations and the appropriate antenna that will likely receive each station.

Tall trees and buildings will block the signal. Get the antenna as high as possible. Move the rabbit ears and UHF loop to maximize your signal strength. Then make sure the TV is set to use the OTA tuner (ATSC for digtal stations). (That may mean changing the source in the setup menu.)

Then scan for channels. Move your antenna or parts of it and rescan or edit the channel list. (For some TVs there is a weak signal setup option that will let you manually enter the station number (including sub-channel). Then it will provide the signal strength information as you move your antenna.)

I hope this helps. An amplifier may help you bring in weak stations with enough signal strength for the tv to see them.

I have Hitachi model,L32A403 it does not pick up any digital signals. What type of antennea can I buy? please help!

Your TV doesn't matter as much as where you are and what might block your signal. Go to antennaweb.org or tvfool.com and plug in your address. These sites will tell you what OTA stations are likely to be available if you point your antenna in specific directions. Antennaweb assumes an outdoor antenna and is very conservative in the channel information (gives me 2 stations 10 miles away and I get 10 (those 2 and the rest from 30 miles away).

tvfool.com gives more details (and antenna strength information). Use this data to choose your antenna (green, red, purple - listed on the box or sales spec sheets in most stores/online stores). Add an amplifier if the signal is split between several TVs.

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(the tuner does matter a little; a great tuner gets more channels with the given signal strength. With digital signals, you either get enough signal to view the station or it's out.)

Hitachi ax-m136u aerial outside

Hi What you probably need is a line transformer.
If you have 300 ohm "twin lead " from outside and the receiver has coax , you need a 300 to 75 ohm transformer.
If you have a coax coming in to 2 screw terminals on the receiver , you need a 75 ohm to 300 ohm transformer.
Some place like Radio Shack or a stereo store would have them.

Need instruction booklet for HITACHI AX-M138 USB DAB CD DVD MP3 HIFI SYSTEM. Bought on Ebay and didn't come with instructions

I have found out that the Hitachi AX-M138 was only ever distributed in the UK by DSG (Dixons / Currys) so you could try their spare page at www.mastercare.co.uk to see if they can supply you with a manual. I've had a look & they no longer list it but it's worth an email to them. Otherwise I have a copy if your interested.
