Um, I had just gotten a Nintendo DS and Pokemon Diamond for it, and I get to the start screen and I press Start, which takes me to the main menu for Diamond, but when I see an already saved game, (it was a used Pokemon Diamond game) and I try to delete it (pressing Up+Select+B-button like I'm supposed to), it takes me back to the Start screen, but when I go back to the main menu, that saved game is still there. I've done the Up+Select+B-button thing almost a thousand times, and that same saved game file is still there on the main menu and I can't get it out, and according to the game itself, it says that unless I delete that saved file, I won't be able to save a new game.
ARE YOU PEOPLE STUPID!? incompetance surrounds us
Well, I have had to delete a game before. Stay at the screan with DIALGA on it. Press the combination then go into "New Game". KK? It works, I have done it.
Mm hm. yeah, you always have that problem. my friend asked me a million times. i hate the way they set that up. anyways, i got a used game and tried that for hours. you need to press x+y+a+b+start+select+l+r and it worked for me.

Far as I know coming from former GameBoys even to the DS. The game itself is not saved upon the actual Game itself, but the System or in the case the Gameboy. If he had played the game before most likely it is a previous saved gamed he palyed or someone else. All pokemon games have a common point, that you can only play one game at a time, if you try to start a new game, the previous saved game is deleted after saving on a new game. Granted that I have not played the newer verisons of the Pokemon, but if they are anything like the older verions. Emerald, Ruby, Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Etc. They will delete the game once a new game is started and saved.
If you want to delete your old game to start a new one, just press the
b button, select and up on the control pad all at the same time on the
title screen where it says 'press start'. It's either the title screen,
or the screen where it says Continue/New Game/Nintendo WFC.
do you mean migrate pokemon from a gba pokemon game to diamond because if you do that you need to complete the sinnoh pokedex by seeing every pokemon in the sinnoh pokedex and then you can go to the pal park. Then put the gba game in the gba slot. Start up you diamond and on the menu there should be a sign that says, "Migrate from gba game"
Your file may have a corrupted file. This can happen if a game is old or hasn't been taken care of properly. Look at the outside of the game, take a q-tip, and GENTLY rub the game with the q-tip. the front, the back, EVERYWHERE. Take another q-tip and GENTLY stick it into the part of the DS where you inset the game.
