I've heard that DVD Rs don't play on Xboxs. It used to be on the first generation Xbox would give you an error. If you are getting sound and no pictures, it's a good indication that the Xbox doesn't have the correct decoder to read the DVD even though playing store bought movies from it still works.
I think they did this to keep people from pirating games rendering home burned DVDs useless when played in the machine.
Re-Installing and removing does not remove everything from your REGISTRY. If you Install something then uninstall it you will be left with info in your registry therefore you r reintalling on same info vista has
Hmmmmmm thats a much older program. But its still probably a driver mode issue. U need to know your sound card and what kind of drivers it uses. Then go into options > audio > adv and change driver mode. (that may not be correct set of parameters as MCPro is really old and i dont really remember where its located) but then run the wave profiler and reboot. If that doesn't do it, u can still email tech support, as they still support that version thru email
