Question about HHB CDR850 CD Recorder

1 Answer

Noise / Hum in recordings

I got the HHB CDR-850, when I record you can hear what is being recorded but there is also this annoying hum in the recording,. It follows the disc. Playing back a standard pre recorded disc works fine. No hum at all. It will do this even if there is no input connected at all.

Also seems like IC 103 seems to be getting nice and toasty.

I do not have a service manual for this thing unfortunatly

Hi, i once had the same problem with a kenwood cassette deck. it would play pre-recorded tapes perfectly but when it came to recording from another source i would get an annoying hum when playing back the recording, the fault turned out to be a faulty earth connection on the phono connectors on the rear, they were dry jointed and once resoldered the unit worked and the recordings were perfect. maybe you have the same problem? hope this helps?

YesI when the unit is first turned on the laser will emit a red light when scaning, if no beam is present it is time to replace your player, not cost effective to repair.

Hi, I have an HHB Burn-It CDR 830. Whenever I'm recording, along about the 5th track in- the player starts to fuzz out. The time stutters/freezes momentarily, and then continues normally for a while...

If it's always around the same physical location on a given CD it would have to be a physical problem with the transport, not the lens.

Esoteric but comprehensive advice....

Anytime I try to record with my HHD BurnIT cdr 830, the red record light will only be bleeping and the time counter will not work as well. And there will be nothing recorded on the cd.

Just a guess, but did you ever try to hit the record a second time once you're all set up to start? The first press of the record button places the machine in record/pause mode after it calibrates itself to the disc.

I had this happen a lot on my Pioneer PDR-509, which is pretty much the same machine, when using marginal mongrel-brand CDR's. It's annoying but I have seen nothing to explain or detect it in real time so something can be re-recorded.

Recorded Analog Recording Level set at ZERO (by

I doubt it. With record level at 0, there would be nothing recorded -- maybe a faint signal, But it would have to be amplified so much to hear it the noise would drown out the program signal.

HHB CDR-850 Professional loading problem

I had the same problem with mine. The manual says to unplug it from the power and plug back in. That did'nt seem to correct anything. I also was having an issue with recording. It would'nt record data for tracks and recording would scramble. I had this burner for 10 years and loved it untill last night when it crapped out on me completely. I am VERY disappointed!
