Unplug bass unit to cut down bass effect completely or check bass boost or groove setting in hifi setup menu to reduce bass.

Greetings. Unless the unit has a bass volume control on the sub itself the only way to lower the bass settings is through the built in eq and or dsgx settings (similar to a bass boost)

Try disconnecting all the speakers, the red light may indicate the player is in "Protection" mode. That mode is triggered by a short in the speaker voice coil or the wiring to them.

According to this there is no midrange unit! So you don't need to open it. If the sound is coming from the tweeter and bass it's OK.

Sony 12 Single Voice Coil 4 Ohm Subwoofer with Enclosure

Adding a subwoofer to your system will enhance the bass response. Sony lists the SA-WZ80 as an optional add on subwoofer for your system, I could not locate it on the web. I added another one of Sony's subwoofers that may work with your system. I suggest you go to an electronics store with the Sony MHC-WZ80D System manual and ask about subwoofers for your system. It does not necessarily have to be a Sony product. Best Buy may be able to help you.

My sony rdr-gx355 will not turn on. The blue HDMI light is lit up but nothing else will work

Same here. I'm trying the "unplug and wait 40 minutes" solution like some of the Sony Blue-Ray solutions.

Not getting high depth of bass sony MHC-RV777d

I wouldn't expect huge bass from those little speakers. Somewhere on there, there's an equiliser, where you 'll probably be able to turn the bass up and down. See if that works. If not, new speakers may help.

How to incrise the bass of sony MHC-RV777d

Is it possible that the speakers are out of phase, where one speaker is moving out, the other is moving in, resulting in zero bass?

Other than checking wires, making sure + on amp is linked to + on speaker, try changing the eq settings, or sit them next to a wall - walls help bass a lot.

Switched to command mode DVD1(I know...) book: you will be unable to operate this recorder. That's all they wrote. Can't undo. Nothing works-screen freeze. HELP???

To solve the problem you need to change the command code on the remote control to 1. Point the remote to the unit, and press 1 on the remote.

I had the same problem also.
