Question about Hotpoint Dryers
Hi, it tumbles well but there is no heat at all on either setting (hi /low). Checked the filter which was packed solid. Cleaned it out but still no heat, Im assuming the thermostat has tripped but don't know where it is or if it can be reset. Help needed and thanks in advance.
Hi, it sounds like the reset stat gone on your vented drier. Remove the back cover, where the element is, and you should find two stats, one with a green spot. That's your reset stat. If you have a multimeter, turn it to buzzer and check the stat by touching the connections with the meter leads. If there's no buzzing, it's the reset stat. also check if the dark side of the stat is pushed inside. Remove the stat and hold it about 20inches from the floor. Drop it on the floor and the dark side will become flat. Repeat as many times as necessary. GUARANTEED TO WORK. Put everything back and that's it.
