There must be some bad solder connections in the amp. You will need a soldering iron and some solder. Plus the skill to use them so you do not cause much more damage to the amp. It is very easy to bridge a solder joint to a close by solder joint and cause a short in the circuit and can be very danergous, even cause the amp to catch fire. If you bridge any solder joints and then power the amp on, you may very well destroy the amp beyond being able to repair it by anybody. So if you are not sure of how good you may be able to solder the board, please just take it to a service center and have them check it out for you. If it is just some broken solder connections they should be able to repair it fairly cheap. Most shops charge about $65 for this type of repair, but not all repair shjops are priced the same, so you would need to check it out first.

It is very common, for car audio especially, to get cracked or broken solder joints due to the nature of them. They get bounced around a bit even when installed properly. Every time you hit a bump in the road the amp gets a little jolt.

If your amp had anything else besides the bad connections, it would not play OK after shaking it.

If you need any further help let me know.

Sounds like you are over working this amp for sure.. Upgrading your power wire & battery might help, check your gain level on your amp to. This is not the volume for the amp. Its to get both amp and the cd player on the same page... And most of all if your subs are wired up to .5 ohm stable, see if your amp do the same... My answer to this ?? Upgrade your amp, Boss audio was never a good company to me, but that is my opinon. Audiobahn set up all the way..

Subwoofers Creating Independent Noise

Sounds like your RCA's are near your power & ground wires. I would run your RCA''s on the other side or as far away from the power wire as possibly. Sounds like your getting the infamous alternator whine. If none of the above work you can get a in line noise filter to filter out that noise. RCA's can pick up noise when their around anything that has alot of current running through it....Hope this helps

Boss BA-2900 car amp doesnt produce any sound

i have come across a similar problem before. if you are using the ceramic (glass, clear) fuses the solder in the end caps sometimes melts. you will not see the fuse blown, but the fuse may still be bad. try a new fuse to see if that works. also make sure no single stray strands of wire from a positive or negative wire are touching on the terminals on the amp. i hope this helps. ill keep thinking of other things in the meantime
