Re: my machine fill up but will not agitate, Whats wrong...
The humming sound you are hearing is the water valve either trying to open and can't or your water is shut off at the valve. Might want to check one final thing if either of the two scenarios above.....remove the washer hoses from the back of your machine and check to see if the screens inside the washer water valve are blocked. Good Luck! If I can help further, I am here.

The humming sound is coming from the drive motor running but unable to drive the agitator nor the basket to spin. The drive motor is definitely running as the drain function works because of the fact that drain pump is directly coupled with the rear spline of the motor. The drain pump works in either direction as long as the motor runs. The problem is obviously a broken motor coupler which transfers the mechanical energy of the motor to the transmission. The solution then is to replace the broken coupler. Click on the link below for the detailed step-by-step procedure in replacing the motor coupler.
There is either something stuck in the drain pump or the motor is defective. The drain pump is connected to the front of the motor, if you remove see if the motor works without it. If it does work, check to see if there is something stuck inside the drain pump or if it is seized.
Thats very agitating. There is a motor that runs the agitater, its either going out or you have lost the drive,a little spendy to have fixed.

Hello , Have you looked inside the pump where the hose comes from the tub , there could be an item clogging it , also try turning the pump where the shaft goes by hand , it should turn freely.
You can also try turning the gear case with the motor off where the coupler is attached , 1 direction will agitate and the other direction spins , you should be able to turn the gear case both ways and it will not turn easy.
if all of these check out the motor could be bad but it is highly unlikely.
let me know how it works and if you have any other questions.
