Throttle linkage installation

I have a Poulan 4000 that I let sit for several years. I pulled the carb & put a kit in it. Now I cannot figure out how the throttle linkage goes back on. are there drawings or photos available that might bail me out of this one?

Poulan pp4018 chainsaw starts and stays full thottle

Not a real common problem on this model, but I have seen this a few times. 1st if under warranty (take to have serviced). If you want to look at it your self I would start by removing Cover and looking at throttle control linkage (Key image # 38 in image of website below) to make sure that when you press trigger that linkage on carb is moving. Some timaes you can free it but sometimes it is actually the carb sticking.

Why will poulan S25A will not idle what would cause it?

The idle adjustment screw may have backed out some or fallen out.
Look for a screw that is touching the linkage from the throttle trigger to the carb. turn thr screw in the direction to open the throttle on the carb a bit more

Throttle connections on poulan pro 210 chainsaw

The precision bent throttle connecting rod can only go in one way CORRECTLY.... if it has to be forced or bent, stop and figure out the puzzle before any damage is done.

I'd suggest placing the carb temporarily on the mounting studs on the side of the cylinder. Don't install the filter and nuts etc yet. Take the throttle rod and lay it in place this way and that way until it looks like it matches the trigger end AND the carb end. Usually the carb end has to be installed on the carb while it is removed from the engine as tightness of space won't allow moving it all over to poke it in the hole. Once it is on the carb and you are sure of the orientation, slide the carb once again over the studs and lay the throttle rod by the trigger.

You need about three hands to hold the trigger, trigger lock, trigger return spring and the handle together while you figure out how to snap in the top of the handle and start a screw under the handle.

Poulan 335 chainsaw starts easily and then stalls

1. You will first want to check your fuel lines for cracks/breaks.
2. If they are o.k. then you will need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb. cleaner. Make sure that the small screen in carb. is free of debris. Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152), to clean the small portals in carb. Check the gasket and diaphragm for breaksor wear. (NOTE): If your carburetor guts, (Carb. Kit), are more than 3 or 4 years old, you might want to replace them while you have it apart.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Can,t hardley pull starter cord. I've removed muffler and carb. It will pull fine if the spark plug is removed (w/or with carb and or muffler . this is a poulan pro 18"

What i have to occasionally do for a chain saw after it sits all winter is to put something like WD40 in the spark plug hole and crank it over several times. What happens to me is that the piston gets gunked up from the gas that ran down into it during the winter and it won't crank over hardly at all. This is probably your problem. I have also found that if i store my saws with the tank down, the gas cant get into the carb and do this. (Although it's better to drain tank).
If this has been a running saw instead of a stored one, you probably need a rebuild kit if the piston is scored.
