Visio 32L color goes bad with ghost images after about 5 minutes.
We have had no problems with our tv since we purchased it a bit over a year ago. Recently after it is on for a while the picture goes bad with weird color and ghost images. If you shut it off for about 2-3 minutes and turn it back on it will work fine for about the same time period and then go bad again. If you shut if off for only a minute it will not return to a good image. Almost like the power has to bleed off everything before it works right again. Any ideas?

This sounds like one of the two things that destroys electronics. Heat. You can try this. Place a fan blowing into the vents of the set before you turn on the set. See if the set run longer before the problem occurs. You may have a marginal part or bad connector/connection.

about a year ago our visio tv started having lines going up and down from the bottom to the top. we called direct tv and they could not find anything wrong with the cable. the problem got better and then worse. finally we called the tv repair man and he said it was the monitor and that it cost more to replace the part than it does to buy a new tv. that means after about a year that we purchased it the tv monitor was bad. now what do we do?
You have a bad LCD control board going bad,Color getting floresent? Or pixely? esp. when you have it on for a bit. Common prop. But finding parts is a prob.
They are no longer in buis. Try Shop Jimmy,or even Ebay. Encompass does not have any. Runs about 40-60.
Doing some warranty work for Visio, I ran into this same problem. I replaced the video and power boards, among other things. Turned out to be a bad panel, which isnt viable to replace. Best to get Visio to agree they made a lemon (as all their products are in my humble opinion) and have them send you a new tv, or even better, buy a tv that is NOT a visio. You can get great deals on LG and Samsung these days, both decent quality tvs.
It maybe a circuit control board for the screen. Last thing you want to do is void the warranty by opening up the TV.
Best to use the warranty at this point. Here's info to get you started. Phone Numbers

Hi, I have a similar issue which is progressively getting worse. My TV is on a sliding mount, and interestingly enough, sometimes I can "jilt" it by hitting it and it clears. This seems to me to be a connector problem, where heat (thermal expansions, electrical resistances) can introduce degrading signal. Now if I could find a manual on how to take this damn thing apart.......Certainly does't solve the warranty issue, but at least gives a reason for one to kick their TV.
It looks like your TV might have a main board failure if the screen stays white without video. Since your TV is less then a year, I would suggest to contact the manufacturers to get fix under warranty. Most electronics devices carry one year warranty.
UNBELIEVABLE!!! mattymcmatt has the solution!!! I have had trouble with my Visio 26" remote ever since I got it several years back. Had to mess with the batteries, BUT Finally it quit entirely several months ago. I have tried everything... batteries, unplug TV, press each button on remote, etc... just bought a new remote, and tried all the above 'fixes' AGAIN nothing has worked. read mattymcmatt's fix of unplugging tv held down the on button on the tv for little over a minute, plugged tv back in and and VIOLA my remote is now WORKING!!! thankyou matty!!!!
