Chances are you have one of several problems -

    1) Bugs or spiders have built nests inside of the main burner tube, just above the gas valve.
    2) If the unit is over 3-4 years old, the regulators tend to quit operating properly. If you have followed the proper procedure for resetting the propane bottle (close propane bottle valve all the way, close the appliance valve all the way, make sure the connector between the propane bottle and appliance are tight, open propane valve 1/2 turn, light appliance pilot and allow to burn for 30 seconds, open appliance valve all the way, open propane valve all the way.).
You can buy a replacement regulator at the home repair centers (they typically have replacements for grills.). You may need to get a fitting to allow the new regulator to fit to the heater.

Reply back if this fixes the problem, or you have additional questions.

SOURCE: Replacement regulator required for Endless Summer patio heater

These regulators can usually be purchased from Canadian Tire or Home Depot. If you are unable to locate the exact replacement, email the model number located on the regulator and I will locate one for you. I am in the GTA and can be contacted via company website. www.emshvac.com
But one question, why do you think the regulator is defective? These rarely fail.

SOURCE: Left Patio Heater out for winter, now won't ignite

It could be just a blockage in the pilot assembly, you have to take the head apart to find and clear the blockage. While you are in there you check for a blockage in the main burner orifice as well. If it is just a blockage, then you don't have to replace anything.

If this doesn't get the gas flowing, try replacing the regulator.

SOURCE: Have Endless Summer patio heater. I got the burner

It could be the thermocouple, but you have to take the head apart to replace it. If you got the main burner to fire, then the thermocouple is probably ok. Try changing the regulator, easy to do and not to expensive. If that doesn't work, try taking the head apart and cleaning the pilot and main burner orifices, do both while you are in there. If you are not comfortable doing this, hire someone.

My gas endless summer heater shuts the flame off abruptly after 5 minutes or so. why??

The first consumable part to fail on a gas patio heater is the thermcouple, these can last anywhere between 1 year to 6 years. When faulty it will cause the heater to shut off when turned on at pilot. Found this site very useful patio heater problem solving.

Flame stops suddenly after running for a while. Yes, there is fuel.

Check that there are no leaks, to do a leakage test see patio guide to problem solving. If OK then check the thermocouple, when worn out they will cause the pilot to switch off.

233010, Pilot fires up and heater lights ok but shuts itself off after 5 min. Is one of the thermocouples malfunctioning?

It's possible, Cal, but it could be that the burner and the pilot assembly simply need a thorough cleaning. As, insects love to build nest in the heating part, when they are not being used.

If after cleaning the unit thoroughly, you still have the problem, you can purchase the Thermocouple from the manufacturer, Blue Rhino 1.800.762.1142.

I hope I was able to help you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Flame goes out after 5 to 10 min then have to wait until it cools to relight

Unless, it's the wind blowing the flame out, I'd say the Thermocouple needs to be replaced. This is based on what you said, " have to wait until it cools to relight." The reason for that, is that the burner control valve has to reset itself. You can also check the pilot and pilot orifice for obstructions. Blowing it out with a can of compressed air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with) may also help solve the problem. As insects like to build nests in these heaters, when they are not in use.

Endless Summer Patio Heaters are manufactured by Blue Rhino under the name Uniflame and Endless Summer. You can purchase any necessary parts from them online, if necessary.

Hope this helps you to solve your problem.

Heat does not turn to high. I can turn the KNOB to high, but the heat does not increase. The heater used to turn red when it was on high, but does not now do that. How can I incread the heat output. Model:...

It sounds like you are not getting enough gas at the main burner. Possible causes, bad regulator, easy to replace and relatively inexpensive. You could also have a partial blockage in the main jet orifice, not letting enough gas through. You have to take the head apart to service the main jet orifice, do the pilot jet orifice while you are in there. If you are not comfortable doing that, hire someone.

Outdoor patio heater won't stay lit

I'm told by Charmglow that the problem is the Thermocouple. iHowever,it took me several calls to get someone to admit this. They are sending a new thermocoupler. My heater is less than a year old and under warranty--but it's a shame things like this happen.

Originally I was told it could'nt be the thermocoupler as they normally last at least 5 years.

Try it--as it may solve your problem as well.
