Question about HP LaserJet 8150dn Printer

1 Answer

HP 8150 prints OK for 30 minutes then will not go.

The printer display shows ''processing Job'' then ''receiving Data'' then does nothing.  Next day, prints OK for about 30 minutes. I print music parts from Finale, two pages up on 11x17 paper. Looks great when working.

My printer had a 600n jetdirect card.  I opened up the printer by the power supplies, cleaned out the dust from the fans and elsewhere.  I also replaced the 600n with a new 620n.  I have not had the problem since that.  I printed an event log but it didn't go that far back in time to show the original problem.  I think I am all set. The only problem left is that input tray one grabs more than one sheet of paper, so I have to hang on to the lower sheets and feed the next sheet by hand.  I have read some reports about a pad at the input but can't see it.  I am printing on 32 pound paper if that has anything to do with it.

I will have to find a source and buy the separation pad before I ask for help.  I have the service manual on PDF and will look for instructions there.  Do you know of a good source or should I buy it from HP?

is this a networked printer with a "jet direct" communications card on it?

Go to INFORMATION MENU. Hit ITEM till it says PRINT EVENT LOG then hit SELECT. Let me know what it says. With your input we can figure it out.

I am certain you need to replace the tray one seperation pad. That will solve your problem.
I could walk you through it if you like. Very easy to do. Sep pad costs around $10 but it can be installed in two minutes. Easy.

I havent been on here too long, so dont know if the following is OK with this site. I fix HP printers for a living, have all parts in stock. My company's name is Tonersmart, HP laser printers are all we do, we remanufacture HP toner cartridges and have been in business in central Florida for 17 years.

I can put a sep pad in an envelope and send if you wish. It is a tiny part. Then you can just call me and this job will only take a minute. Just to be clear, the sep pad WILL STOP what is called "multi-feeding"....picking up more than one sheet of paper at a time. No tools are required for this job. You will not even need instructions to do this.

Many people do not know that working on HP LaserJet printers, for the most part, is very easy to do. email: tsmart@gate.net

My hp printer m1005 show error 20 and some time error 17. Plz. give me solution.

A 20 error is insufficient memory.
The device received more data than can fit
in the available memory. You might have
tried to transfer too many macros, soft
fonts, or complex graphics.

Touch OK to print the transferred data
(some data might be lost), and then simplify
the print job or install additional memory.

As for the 17 error?...I can't find it in the manual.

Paper jam warning. I cannot find any paper in

Hello,

Please try to turn off your printer and unplug all the connection in the printer from its power down to its usb or parrallel connection. And let it up to 30 minutes to unplug and turn off. This process is letting your printer reset it self and loading its default and original settings. Usually it loads it original settings. After 30 minutes please plug all the connection of the printer and then turn the printer on and test the printer by printing a document or any files you want to print. Please observe what is the result.

Thanks
