Buttons on back have a mind of their own.

All of a sudden the buttons on the back of my camera no longer work as they should. The button to turn off the flash doesn't work at all. The macro button doesn't work although for a few days the macro message would show up no matter which of the buttons I pushed. Yesterday the telephot worked but today it doesn't. Today no matter which button I push I get the exposure comp. message. I just turned on the camera and the macro message came on with the indicator moving from off to on by itself. When I move the indicator from auto to scene I can't move the check mark off the portrait scene. It seems as if the camera has a demon! Can you help?
