Question about Craftsman Air & Gas Compressors
I have a 6hp 25 gallon Craftsman 110v air compressor that worked just fine. Then I started using a smaller compressor in my shop and had not used the 25gallon one for a few weeks. Cranked it up yesterday and it started filling the tank just fine. Seemed like a long time and the pressure was up to about 125psi and still was running. I turned the switch off, motor stopped, turned it back on and the motor stayed off. The next time it cycled on, same thing, really ran too long and never cycled off. Any idea what the problem might be with it?
Hi, First, I think the cutoff pressure is 135psi and there is an overpressure valve so let it run a little longer. I don't know exactly which model you have ( some of these were oil less) but if it is running longer than you remember, be sure to check the oil if necessary, make sure you are not using a long extension as this will cause the motor to slow down and definitely check to make sure the water is drained and the drain petcock is closed all the way. Also check it without an air hose attached. Good Luck!
