Firefox 3.0.6 crashes every time I use a search engine

- I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox twice (the Google toolbar remained) and the problem persists.

- Internet Explorer and Safari both work fine and operating under Windows XP.

- Zone-Alarm. Be advised that Firefox works fine except for crashing on searches.

I followed your advice starting by disabling all the add-ons, which had no affect on the crash problem, and then went on to the extensions. That's when things became interesting. As I started to disable them, Firefox would immediately crash upon startup or restart. After several reinstalls, the culprit turned out to be XP Linkscanner 2.72. I've passed this information on to Firefox in my last crash report.

Thanks again, as I'm glad to have Firefox working again.
