Big buddy Heater - 20 lb tanks won't keep pilot lit,

I had the same problem I called tech support and they said to turn the valve on the 20# cylinder on very slowly for the first 1/4 turn then all will be fine. There is an excessive flow check valve that causes restricted flow when the valve is opened quickly----------mine works fine now

I Have an old M30 REDDY HEATER, It won't start, Good Spark, Good Fan, Clean fuel, Pump has some pressure- I have no-idea on how much is needed, Not sure about the in-out of fuel lines to the Main Jet...

The line from the pump to the nozzel should go inthe front fitting and the one from the tank goes to the backfitting. If either of these have cracks in them or do not fit tightly over the fittings it will not build enough pressure and burn. You may also check the filters mainly the output filter as this will also effect pump pressure. I don't have as much experiance with that brand so I can't be sure exactly about the pressure. I think it should be 3.5 to 4 Psi. If this doesn't help please email me and I will find out for sure.

I need to know if there is a filter on the end of the pickup fuel hose in the fuel tank.i have a reddy heater ,model r100a.

Yes there is a filter. Pull up on the fuel line, or the rubber grommet that goes into the tank with the fuel line through it. There were different types of filter used. One is inside a black plastic tube. You can pick it out of the tube with a pick. Another style is located on top of the tank and is of white plastic. Your fuel delivery problem may be air related. The air pump is on the back of the blower motor, and meters a set volume of air to **** the fuel out of the tank and blow it through the nozzle. This air pressure is stated on the data plate on your heater, probably about 3.6 psi. The air filters on the air pump could also be dirty causing the air output to be reduced, and thus low fuel flow. Also check for air leaks at the pump. Spray soapy water on the black plastic cover and look for bubbles, which are of coarse air leaks.

My reddy heater will start up and run for about 5 to ten minutes, then cuts out. It will restart after a 20 second cool down, but will only run for about 30 seconds at a time after that. Brian

These have a flame sensor in them that collects dirt, carbon, and occasionally an insect seeking shelter. You need to take the top half of the heater tube apart and look near the fan assembly and locate the flame sensor clean it with windex and soft terry cloth rag. While you have it apart pull some yearly routine maintenance with the fuel system, as lack of fuel can also cause this problem. Remove the fuel nozzle and inspect it they say you can not clean these but carb cleaner q-tips and tooth pick will do the job with out damaging it. Next is the screen behind the nozzle as these corrode when in storage, carefully clean and reinstall. Inspect the fuel lines for pinching, cracks, dry rot, or holes do this back to the fuel pump. Now put the top half back together and remove the side panel that the fuel line passes down thru. What you look for here is the fuel line and in line filter, remove the filter and take compressor and air gun and blow air backwards thru the filter now that it is cleaned out reinstall it and inspect lines down to the tank. Make sure the line is submerged in the fuel, now put your side panel back on and try firing it up. These are common problems with these types of heaters I do this every year before use, it is an hour well spent. Also check the foam filter on the back of the unit and clean it while you are at it. Take your time and this should get you back to heating properly.

Furnace will shut down acouple times a day . I hade it cleaned by a service tec 2 weeks ago that is when the problem started. a different tec came and said it was water in my tank or electrical. he said he...

You did not mention if you replaced the tank filter or pump strainer. If you have a filter at the tank, change it. All oil pumps have a plastic strainer that should be replaced each cleaning. Turn off the oil to the burner and remove the 6 screws on the end of the oil pump. Try not to rip the gasket but pull off the pump end . Put a pie plate under the pump. Inspect the round filter in the pump and replace it if you can't clean it. You could also be sucking up debris from your tank. If the tank is a top draw, lift up on the oil lines to get them away from the bottom of the tank. You could also have an air leak in the oil line. With a couple of adjustable wrenches, re-tighten each fitting on the oil line and at the oil pump.

Laser toyostove will not ignite

When you ran out of fuel the filter trapped some air in the very top. You need to loosen the fitting on the fuel line right at the filter and let the fuel run of a minute. This will clear the air from the top. On the way out to the filter unplug the stove. Leave it unplugged for 20 minutes. This will clear the EE22 message. Now you can restart your stove.
