My 64 G PKNY disc is giving me an error of corruptable and cannot be read. Can I retrieve this files I must have them back

You can try using a file recovery software like Sony 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo. Once files are recovered, please format the drive to fat32 file system. It will then be blank, ready to write files back to it.

Hi, My pwndrive has got some problem, It copies the files properly , and if I put the same in other system , I cant copy any files it says that files are corrupted . There is no virus , becoz I scanned...

When you get a message that a file is 'corrupted' it does not necessarily means that there is a virus. The 'corruption' could be that the drive is damaged and the file had bits of it stored in damaged sectors and hence the file is unreadable, incomplete or... corrupted.

Once you store a file, are you able to open it in the same computer you copied the file from? If so, the problem might be in the 'other system' Do you get error message from that 'other system' only? Could be a loose USB port, try another USB port or another computer to narrow down what the problem is. Hope it helps.

My SanDisk Cruzer Gator 4GB is not working. When

The filesystem appears to be corrupted. Try right-clicking the drive's icon, going to Properties, Tools and Check Disk. If that doesn't help the partition that holds the data may be unreadable, and if that happens try asking a data recovery service if the data is important.

The directory is corrupted and unreadable

The most common cause of this is removing the USB drive without clicking "Safely remove hardware" in the task bar. Especially if data is being written to the drive, this can result in corrupt files and may make the drive unusable.

I'm sorry to say the data may be unrecoverable--ALWAYS make backups!

Two things to try before you write-off the data as lost forever.

One: Try booting the computer in SAFE mode and see if you can pull files off the USB Drive--you may have to give the drive administrative privileges.

Two: Download and run the trial version of the BadCopy data recovery program at this link:

http://www.jufsoft.com/badcopy/

To make the drive usable again, find it in My Computer, RIGHT click on it and click "Format." The choose "Quick" format. A quick format should make it usable again.

If the BadCopy program could find no files to recover: After the quick format, you may be able to pull some of the files off simply in windows. If not, run BadCopy again: It just may find some files after the quick format.

A full format erases ALL data which may remain on the drive. Only use quick format if you expect to recover anything.

Good Luck!
