I've just replaced the drive shaft (AUD$70) of my McCulloch Eager ****** 200A Brushcutter only to now need a new piston ring. Any ideas where I can get one in the Sydney area? Cheers

check both ends of shaft, they're usually a hex or torx head. sometimes the can strip or even snap off. if you find noticable damage replace the shaft

No grease is grease but there is sillicone used nowadays as it just looks clean to use. Now check if it does use some kind of oil in the system.

SOURCE: I own a mcculloch mt270x and it will not start.

Hi stevej31...
Screw you idle screw in to about 1/2 to 3/4 turn open from seating to the bottom of the threads...spray a little starting fluid into the carburetor and try to crank it again.
Did you use compressed air to blow out all passages in the carburetor? If not then do it, because dirt and debris will plug your air/fuel passages and cause the weedeater not to crank.
If you have to rebuild your carburetor then I recommend that you use a laquer thinner type cleaner to clean and dissolve the laquer build-up in the float and needle jet passages.
Be sure to remove all plastic and rubber parts before using the laquer thinner because it can dissolve the plastic parts and render them unuseable.
Sometimes the diaphgram may look good, but be a little too stiff to act properly as the fuel pump.
If the machine is over a couple of years old then...I highly recommend that you rebuild your carburetor completly
Please take time to rate me

How do I replace the upper drive shaft on a Ryobi RBC430SEC brushcutter?

I couldn't find this model on google, but when replacing drive shafts in most brushcutters we used to slide the cutting head / gear assembly off the bottom of the shaft, remove the circlip holding the drive shaft if there was one, slide out the shaft from its square hole in the clutch at the motor end. If the shaft was broken we'd slide the motor part off the shaft to get the broken part of the shaft out.

How to change heads on stihl fs 81?

There should be a hole in the gear box for a pin. Insert something in that hole to hold the shaft from turning and unscrew the head. I believe it is reverse thread

I am replacing the cylinder, piston, and ring on my 128LDX. What is the procedure for inserting the piston into the head?

You should be able to pinch the rings in with your fingers and slide the cylinder over the top, just make sure the rings are lined up with the relative locating pins on the piston.

Looking for engine parts for an old mcculloch eager ****** weed eater. where can i find them? need to buy a new fuel tank and fuel lines

I assume you mean edger, not eager.
You must have the model number to find anything. You can go to the Mcculloch web site.

Here is an example of a parts list for one of their edgers maybe you're lucky and this is the one you need.

I have a Ryobi RLT 30CESA with the strimmer attachment. What do I need to fit a Brushcutter blade to it

I would not put a brushcutter blade on this unit. The curved shaft quik disconnect may not hold up to the shock torque created by the brushblade. It may damage the drive shaft since it is a curved shaft quik disconnect model. You may have to purchase a straight shaft trimmer to get that job done.
