I am trying to upgrade my PSP (1000sv Silver) from existing version 3.40 OE-A (as mentioned in System Settings) to 5.03. I need version 4.05 or more to run Ben 10 Alien Force. Upon downliading it to PC, I have moved the upgrade file EBOOT.PBP to folder PSP\GAME\UPDATE. The UPDATE folder did not exist earlier, which I have created. On starting the game from UMD, I get the message 'The game could not be started (DADADADA).
Please let me know if the steps I followed are correct or I need to do something else.

easy to update/upgrade the Playstation Portable (PSP) 3000 system
software to firmware version 6.20. There are two ways to do a PSP 6.20update
- regular file download and network update. We did an update on our
pink PSP 3000 using the network update procedure since our place has
Why did we choose network update in
updating our PSP firmware to ver 6.20? It's much simpler. Here is a
quick tutorial on how to carry out PSP 6.20 update using Network Update
Go to Network Settings to configure your PSP WLAN by setting up an access point.
Under Network Settings, it would be best to choose Automatic to
simplify the process. Your PSP console will search for any wireless
network available nearby.
To Update System Software to the latest 6.20 firmware version, Go
to Network Update. Be sure your battery is full because the update will
fail if you turn off you PSP console or if the unit shuts down due to
lack of battery power.
Method 2: Download File To Update PSP 6.20 Firmware Using a PC. If you prefer to update your console using the download method, here are the simple steps in doing this:
connect to a WiFi access point and select system update from the settings menu. if you do not have access to a WiFi connection you may connect your psp to your computer via USB and download the firmware upgrade from sony's website. Hope this Helped! Remember to Rate!
you can't update your psp from custom firmware(what you have) to official firmware (what your trying to get to) What you need is to upgrade your firmware from OE-A to M33. All you need to search for is 3.51 m33 creator.
hi your previous psp version is 3.80 m33 if yes your using custom firmware that why you can play game to your memory stick the problem is you upgrade your psp firmware to sony official firmware 5.01 you reinstall your firwmware again using custom firmware like 5.00 m33-3 cfw below with m33 or OE
yeah, if your PSP is not Modded and it is running on official firmware of SONY, then you should prolly have it modded or have it made into custom firmware...If you don't know how to check the what firmware version your PSP is running...then here is how: open your PSP, then on the XMB, got SYSTEM SETTINGS then to SYSTEM information. on the top it says SYSTEM SOFTWARE, then check if your firmware version has a m33 suffix...if it doesnt have an m33 at the end, then it is an OFFICIAL firmware so have it modded, my friend...
Under settings at the top, there should be an icon with two arrows forming a circle saying "Network Update". Click on that and it will try to connect to the internet to load the update. The latest version for the PSP is version 3.80. Hope that helped! If you have any questions, please ask!
