Question about Pioneer CDJ-800 Turntable

1 Answer

Player jumps back to previous track for no reason

Hi there, I have been having a strange issue on my cdj800-MK2 for a while now. Every now and then (no logic or pattern found) when I play a track, the player automatically jumps back to the previous track and plays the last part of that track. So in the middle of the song, mostly within a minute, it just does that. When I would play the song again, it works fine. Any ideas?

Have you tried cleaning the lens out? Invest in a good quality CD cleaner. IF this does not solve your problem, then you more than likely have damage to the reader, and will need to be replaced.

The part can be found here: PIONEER CDJ PART

You might have damage to the reader, and I can only suggest replacing the CD Traverse/Transport assembly.

Cd malfunction

Lens cleaners aren't enough. You might have to take it to a service center to have it opened up and professionally cleaned.

If there is no damage to the cd traverse assembly, then the issue might be with either the quality of your burned CDs, or method used to burn.

I always tell people to burn at slow speeds - 4x is ideal. Yes, I know it's slow, but it will burn your cds at a better quality.
