It should not be necessary to have the installation disk - you can configure the router for wireless use by going into your browser and typing into address bar 192.168.1.254 (I think this is right from memory) - the username & password for accessing the router utilities is by default "admin" (without the quotes) - you will need a wired connection to accomplish this.

Otherwise, if you are using a wired connection, it will connect automatically. Good luck!

there is no need to install drivers , for wireless use the 10 digit number key from the bottom of the modem (inside a bracket ) , for configuration , you can do it manually in a hard wired computer by using IE and typing 192.168.1.254 or 10.0.0.1 on address box .

However try this link also:

My system is verry slowe working

It could be many reasons:
Your laptop/desktop doesn't have much memory or diskpace available
Your laptop/desktop may have spyware, malware, or viruses
Your laptop/desktop may have antivirus software scanning in progress
Your Internet connection is slow
Your laptop/desktop may have device driver issue.

I need a new install disk or download to get my 2wire modem to connect to windows 7 . my old insatll disk dates to 2002 and will not work on my new computer

Did this system come from the vendor with Win7 installed? If not, then you may need Win7 drivers... good luck with that...

If the interface is an "add-on/in" then... you may need Win7 "drivers"... good luck with that...

If all else fails... try calling your ISP... seriously...

Can't re-install 2Wire USB Wireless adapter

If you are on windows vista it could be your driver. You can go into safe mode on the computer with F8 while the computer is starting up, then go to the control panel and device manager. Plug the adapter in and remove the driver for it. Download a new driver at http://support.2wire.com/index.php?page=download and install it.

Hello hopefully ican hel solve your issue i have a 2wire modem myself ans have found that 2wire products are very picky. To answer your question for 2wire products when you try to connect wirelessly it wants you to type in the wep key which is the serial number of the product otherwise you are unable to connect. Now as far as losing your password if you are able to get into the 2wire product via browser so you can bring up the main software page you can try to see if you can get too any info that relates to resetting your info like username and password. Otherwise do a search for your product and search forums and you will most likely find someone that has had to recover there info and they will tell you how they do it. Good luck
