My Ipod Classic - BOSE ear buds. All of a sudden I can't hear out of the right. Sometimes the sound goes in an out. When I try other earbuds, I have more success but not consistent.

The sound on my Apple IPOD 30GB only comes out of the left ear bud. I have changed ear buds -- same problem. If I push on the jack, it comes out of both ear buds.

It might be the wire on the earphones them selves have you tried different sets?

whilst listening to music through earphones to loud you can sumtimes burst one of the earphones and it will not work. there will ber no sign of physiacl damage to the earphones but it will still not work.

also check your ipod settings because therre is a thing called sound leveling and will only play out of whichever side you choose it too.

Go to setting-general-accessibility-sound mono, and turn it on you should be able to hear all of the music in one ear bud

There are some mp3 songs that you can add to the iTunes Library but not to the iPod
This is a format issue i believe
if this its your case you should try to get again the mp3 or burn it from th CD again an then try to upload to the iPod

How to make the sound of the iPod Better

<p>Take your music with you on your iPod, portable media player from Apple. Depending on iPod model can hold between 500 to 40,000 songs. No matter how small or large your music collection, not content with mediocre sound quality while enjoying your music. Using a combination of hardware and software settings of the iPod add-ons to your iPod pump up the jam like never before. <br /> <p><br /> <p>1. Change the iPod music equalizer. These changes and increases the sound from the iPod to better match a specific style or genre of music. Press "Menu" on the front of Click Wheel iPod. Go to "Settings" and press the middle mouse wheel. Scroll down and select "EQ". Select the type of music you listen to (e.g. "Rock") and press the middle button of the Click Wheel. <br /> <p><br /> <p>2. Sound set control function for all your iPod music playing in the same volume as surprising increase or decrease in volume between songs. Click "Settings" from the main iPod menu and choose "Sound Check" to turn it off. <br /> <p><br /> <p>3. Use headphones instead of earphones that came with your iPod. While the earbuds feature enough for everyday use, audiophiles cannot enjoy the limited range of buttons compared with headphones bigger and more powerful. Additional benefits in some models of headphones, such as blocking noise canceling ambient noise, also can help improve your iPod listening experience. <br /> <p><br /> <p>4. Connect the iPod to a stereo amplifier or iPod compatible. This adds low-range and headsets that many cannot create and is ideal for cases where you connect your iPod to share with a group sounds like a party. <br />

IPod Touch 4th Gen will dock. Will Charge. Can use remote control to play, and shuffle songs from iPod, but sounds will not come through speakers on Philips SBD8100 Speaker Dock for iPod and iPhone

Hi Sniper326,
try cleaning the input socket of the Philips Speakers with a cotton bud, try cleaning the socket of the Ipod touch cable as well.

Have you tried using the IPod touch with different speakers? and does it work? if so the problem lies with your Philips speakers.

I hope this helps, good luck!

For the iPod nano you can replace the headphone jack your self for under thirty dollars. Even cheaper if you get the basic tool kit for it. :)

Step 1 Gather the needed tools. Copy an paste the URL below in your Browser window to view the needed items and purchase them if you wish. :)
http://www.rapidrepair.com/shop/1073-deluxe-tool-kit.html

Step 2 You need to remove the bottom bezel 1st. Take a flat head or safe open case tool and slide it in the crack of the bottom. Be careful not to pry to hard or you will break the bezel where the dock port hole is. This bottom piece is held on with mild adhesive.

Step 3 Once the bottom panel is removed, take your + driver and remove the 2 visible screws.

Step 4 There is one other screw that is hidden under the headphone jack. You will not be able to remove the bottom metal dock bezel until this hidden screw is removed. Take the flathead and pull the headphone jack out very slowly & carefully.
Once you have slid the new headphone jack into place just go backwards to reassemble.

The actual part is only one dollar! :) Here is the URL to view the part and decide if you wish to go that route instead of apples so called great rout of Charging a lot of money for something so small and simple.

Ipod (30 G) earbud jack only plays out of one ear

Does this still happen with a different pair of headphones? If not, get another pair. If the same behaviour with any headphones you will need to contact Apple if still in warranty to get it repaired.

My bet is with the headphones not the IPOD.

Good Luck

Can't put music on Ipod

okay all you all need is itunes! (unless you already have it) when you have itunes just put your cd in and click yes to "do you want to import cd" or if you have music on your computer just drag the files into itune's library when it is done importing the music just click on music underneath the subheading of library then select your music and drag to your ipod's music.
