When I put my earbuds into my ipod touch only one side works

Okay I put my earbuds into my ipod touch and when i play a song the sound only comes out of one earbud. I've tried different earbuds but I still have the same problem. Now I don't know what to do

My Ipod Classic - BOSE ear buds. All of a sudden I can't hear out of the right. Sometimes the sound goes in an out. When I try other earbuds, I have more success but not consistent.

The sound on my Apple IPOD 30GB only comes out of the left ear bud. I have changed ear buds -- same problem. If I push on the jack, it comes out of both ear buds.

It might be the wire on the earphones them selves have you tried different sets?

whilst listening to music through earphones to loud you can sumtimes burst one of the earphones and it will not work. there will ber no sign of physiacl damage to the earphones but it will still not work.

also check your ipod settings because therre is a thing called sound leveling and will only play out of whichever side you choose it too.

Go to setting-general-accessibility-sound mono, and turn it on you should be able to hear all of the music in one ear bud

For the iPod nano you can replace the headphone jack your self for under thirty dollars. Even cheaper if you get the basic tool kit for it. :)

Step 1 Gather the needed tools. Copy an paste the URL below in your Browser window to view the needed items and purchase them if you wish. :)
http://www.rapidrepair.com/shop/1073-deluxe-tool-kit.html

Step 2 You need to remove the bottom bezel 1st. Take a flat head or safe open case tool and slide it in the crack of the bottom. Be careful not to pry to hard or you will break the bezel where the dock port hole is. This bottom piece is held on with mild adhesive.

Step 3 Once the bottom panel is removed, take your + driver and remove the 2 visible screws.

Step 4 There is one other screw that is hidden under the headphone jack. You will not be able to remove the bottom metal dock bezel until this hidden screw is removed. Take the flathead and pull the headphone jack out very slowly & carefully.
Once you have slid the new headphone jack into place just go backwards to reassemble.

The actual part is only one dollar! :) Here is the URL to view the part and decide if you wish to go that route instead of apples so called great rout of Charging a lot of money for something so small and simple.

okay all you all need is itunes! (unless you already have it) when you have itunes just put your cd in and click yes to "do you want to import cd" or if you have music on your computer just drag the files into itune's library when it is done importing the music just click on music underneath the subheading of library then select your music and drag to your ipod's music.
