it's a self contained .exe file no installation needed. This will format
your flash for you if you need to and the program gets retained.
if you want a pc based format copy the software somewhere in your hard
drive. in myu computer right click your flashdisk, format (fat 32
better). There clean as a whistle. copy back flashlock, then partition
as you wish.
Locate DrvSetup.exe on the cd/dvd drive and run it. you will need to have the cd/dvd for the game in the drive than right click on the drive click explore than a list of files on the cd/dvd will appear find the one that is DrvSetup.exe and double click it
Try opening windows explorer (not internet explorer) and go to the drive that has sims 2 in it and double click on the file "Autorun.exe" if it has it. Otherwise try "Install.exe" or maybe "sims2.exe" or something like that
Sometimes the drives don't automatically recognize cd's (assuming your using CD). Usually remembers last command which can vary from setup.exe, autorun etc. so if a new CD is inserted with diff. program launch, it can go dumb. You can go to "My computer" and double click on your CD drive (with the game cd inserted) and look for setup.exe or install.exe or autorun. Double-click on one of those files to launch the installer.
you can try formatting it from the disk manager.
plug in the flash drive and remember what drive letter it gets assigned. right-click 'my computer' and choose manage from the drop-down menu. in the following window, click on disk management (under storage) on the left, then right-click on the flash drive and choose format...
If these steps do not fix the problem, then go on to the next section.
To run the Microsoft Windows Installer if Norton AntiVirus was installed from a downloaded version
On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Find (or Search) > Files or Folders.
Ensure that "Look in" is set to the drive where you downloaded Norton AntiVirus, and that "Include subfolders" is checked.
In the "Named" or "Search for..." box, do one of the following:
In Windows 98/Me, type the following:
In Windows 2000/XP, type the following:
Click Find Now or Search Now. You might see many files with this name. Look for the file with this name that is located in either the Symantec_Norton_AntiVirus_2003 or the your Windows temporary file location depending on your version of Norton AntiVirus.
In the Search Results window, do one of the following, depending on your version of Windows:
In Windows 98/Me, double-click Instmsi.exe.
In Windows 2000/XP, double-click Instmsiw.exe.
In the next dialog box, click Yes. This will undo the changes that were made to your system during the first failed installation.
You can try to not double click on your dvd drive, because when you double click, your computer tries to run "autorun", you should browse your files from explorer and try to do one click to your dvd or cd drive, than run your setup exe, if its still freezing, try that cd or dvd at another computer, if it acts same, you can be sure your game dvd is broken. Go to your seller.
