Where do I plug the mic for Guitar Hero?

Where do I plug the mic for Guitar Hero

Thank you.  We have the guitar, drums and mic.  The mic uses a USB and as you said, it plugs into the back of the Wii.  If using our two controllers to play the guitar and drums, do we need another controller for the mic?  If playing the guitar and we want to use the mic, does the second controller operate the mic or is the mic powered through the Wii unit?

Thanks again for all your help.

Plug the microphone into the USB port on the back of your Wii. You will need a controller for the player using the microphone. Also, as a note, you need a controller for each instrument plugged in. Plug the mic in with machine off, as the microphone will often not be detected if it is hot plugged while the machine is on.

SOURCE: I can;t get mic to work with guitar hero wii

first check that you have 4 remotes in play the remote for the mic will be the scroller and has to be used to join the band...second this may be unreliable since it came from another source but something to check a wifi connection is needed you dont have to play against someone online just be connected to wifi.
hope these resolve your issues
