Toner sensor error 5650 oki

Turned on oki 5650 fax and machine displayed power failure report printing, then the alarm light came on and it displayed toner sensor error, check drum unit, paper started to feed from drawer and made it to the two black rollers that are side by side under the drum unit. This will happen every time the machine is turned on and off. The hopping roller was replaced a short time ago as well as the two gears with one way bearings associated with the hopping and resist rollers, also two other drum toner units were tried. Help?

SOURCE: Oki Fax 4580 problem

Does this happen when you perform a test print such as an activity report or config page? if it does you may have a transfer roller issue. The transfer roller is the long black spongy roller directly under the drum, the metal rod in the roller conducts a charge that interacts with the drum. If the roller is dirty (usually chocked up with toner) the necessary charge is diminished and the image will be lighter. You will have to remove the roller in order to clean it, (TURN THE POWER OFF) there is a bendable plastic tab at the right side end of the roller that will release the roller. I personally drench the roller with metho and then wrap a rag around it and squeeze the metho/toner out (dont do this with lexmark rollers, they deform) let dry and give it a try, also check the end of the metal rod and where it connects for contamination.

SOURCE: toner sensor problems

Hi i have the solucion a error of sensor black oki c3100. For two times i have the problem and a long time study the problem. it´s the solucion. Because i spanish the solution is in spanish languaje.
Cerrar y listo. YA FUNCIONA JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA.

SOURCE: toner sensor error on an Oki C3520 Laser

Check the little switch/door on the right hand side of the drums.
This has worked successfully for me.

Symptom:
After replacement of a C3530 Image Drum, the message, "Toner Sensor Error" is displayed.

0.10a?openelement&fieldelemformat=gif

Cause:
The plastic shutter in the ID is fully or partially covering the toner sensor window.

Resolution:
Move the cover upward to allow for the sensor to become fully exposed prior to reinstalling the drum.

Incoming faxes have dark bands accross the page. The bands are 1/4" wide and spaced about 1 1/2 " apart.

Sounds like it needs a new drum. You'll have to replace the toner at the same time.

All our incoming faxes are faded although there is sufficient toner. The heads have also been cleaned and the machine has been cleaned electronically.

Your saying the heads have been cleaned but that points towards an inkjet MFP, if it is a laser MFP, take the toner/drum assy out and shake it hard.. the toner may have settled in storage and may be causing the problems.
