Question about Toshiba 50HX81 50" Rear Projection Television
It works perfect for about 20 min. then after its warmed up the colors get bright and shadowy. I heard this is a capacitor problem if so how do I identify which one and what part number would it be?
Its not a "capacitor" problem. Does the picture look like its in 3D, ie colored ghosts around images? If so, its a convergence failure. You'll need to replace the convergence output ICs and a couple of fuse. Also, there is a jumper connection that needs to be re-soldered or it will happen again. You should probably contact a Toshiba authorized service center to resolve this. Expect to spend $400-500
