Question about KitchenAid 24 in. KUDI02IRBS Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher
Purchased my maytag q 300 about three years ago. Never used it much until recently. For the first two weeks that we used it on a regular basis it was great, two weeks later I can now here a humming noise that sounds like it is straining. Almost like something is stuck, but the jets are working fine. The straining noise is coming from the bottom of the machine. Any suggestions besides just getting a new machine.
When you get a chance, please post the whole model number of your Maytag dishwasher here.
Because you are still getting clean dishes, you probably have debris (a bone or fruit pit) that has gotten down to the pump/impeller or the chopper area.
Remove the lower spray arm, remove the filter/sump assembly and clean everything out. With a flash light, inspect the whole sump area for debris. I bet you will find stuff there (beware of broken glass!) and when you re-assemble, the noise will ne normal.
Good Luck! Please post back what you find, OK?

I have an older dishwasher also and recently my wife also complained about it not cleaning right... so me being the man I am tried in vain to clean the things...
Bought new spray arms online and installed them in minutes...now the thing works like new...
However I have also found that if the heating element goes bad then that also can mess things up bad...
So I would buy new spray arms, and also check out the heating element to make sure it is working...
Here is a tip that will help you with the online buying...
