I once inadvertantly set the audio output on my DVD player for a level that I didn't have the capacity for: IE: 7.1. check in your audio setup menu, and adjust the level down...Just a guess :)

Hello, i have a pioneer vsx-d508 receiver, and i cant get any sound from it the thing works but no sound i tried everything the manual said to try but still nothing ,,can someone help me or point me in the...

Is this new or was it working for a while and then failed? Does it otherwise look 'normal'?

Use FM as the source to test because it doesn't have any way to miswire it. Turn the volume to something less than midpoint so you don't blow the speakers when the aha moment arrives.

Look for an unwanted Tape Monitor or Mute activated. Speakers enabled. FM selected for t his test.

My pioneer amp vsx d508 reads overload.what to do?

Sounds like a bad amplifier IC.
Unhook all speakers at the back of your pioneer. turn it on and turn down the volume. If it's no longer in overload you have a bad speaker or speaker wires touching somewhere.
If its still in overload it's prlobley a amp IC and will cost between $25-$60 just for the part if you can replace it yourself.

No TV sound, only DVD and CD players

Check your tv settings may need to change from speaker out to line out.

Check the tv input on the receiver, put the cd or dvd cables into the tv input. If you get audio the receiver is fine. No audio check the receiver settings.

My speakers arn't working with my new t.v.

Any sound from other sources ie. a CD/DVD unit, Tuner etc.? If so then the issue is the signal path fron the TV to receiver, What cableing do you have from TV audio output? Try standard analog 2 channel to the receiver tv in, be sure you select TV on the receiver mode, also check the TV sound menu options, some require that you disable TV speakers and use the audio line-out option fixed or variable.
