Check the relay on the side of the compressor. Has a metal clip holding it to the compressor. Check with a volt meter and also check the compressor for voltage. no voltage or low at the compressor replace the relay. You can also take the relay off and shake it. If it makes a rattling sound replace it

Hello,

If it's cooling ok, they're probably normal sounds. Modern refrigerators can make many noises, most people aren't home long enough to hear them. A popping sound could be defrost water hitting a hot defrost element, or refrigerant making noise in the cooling lines. If it's working ok, ignore it.

Good luck.......

My refrig occassionally makes a loud "popping" sound. It has been doing this for quite some time. Frig works fine otherwise. Should I be concerned?

The "popping" sound is more than likely to be generated from the defrost cycle that it goes through normally about 3-4 per week at varying times. If all is working well then you should have no worries as this is a normal sound that comes from the expansion of materials when the defrost heaters come on. If this sound is annoying or bothersome, you can have a noise reduction kit installed to help alleviate the sound. You may be able to purchase one at; www.repairclinic.com, or www.appliancepros.com, or from a local dealer/servicer.

Frig makes a very loud booming noise/ratteling what is the cause?

The noise is coming from the compressor and is a result of a broken support spring inside the compressor. When the unit shuts down, the inner casing rattles against the outer casing because the spring is not there to keep them apart. The only fix is to replace the compressor but otherwise it is just bothersome.

Load noise coming from freezer

nothing to do with light bulb - noise is probably fan hitting ice that has built up. to check, remove back panel inside freezer and check for ice build up. melt off with a hairdryer and get back to me if i'm right

Loud Buzzing noise

Sounds like the fan is hitting some ice build-up. If you can access the area of the fan motor you can try a hair dryer to defrost the ice out of it.
