Try removing 1 stick of ram and start computer,if the same issue, put that one back in and remove the other one a start the computer again. If problem still acures.Maybe bad ram,or bad board,Check with new ram first.

Dell optiplex gx 280 beeps 6 times when turnd on and nothing happens

The ram is either bad or unseated. Reme it all and reseat it. If that doesn't work, boot after adding each stick to find which stick or slot is bad.

I have dell optiplex gx 520, it gives no display, it gives 6 long beeps, all capsitors are in good condition.

remove all your RAM and insert 1 by 1 into the dimm slots (power on each time to see which slot is faulty)... try this for each RAM module to see which is still good

I have dell optiplex gx 150 beeps 6 times and a and b led is amber and c and d led is green

the 6 beep codes will be in a specific timing i.e. two beeps, a space 2 more beeps, and another space and 2 more beeps.

Looks like it may be a memory problem according to the lights.

ad54556.gif Possible memory failure

Reseat all DIMMs and restart the system to retest.

Here is the link to the beep codes and diagnostic lights for your dell optiplex gx 150 HERE

The Beep codes are in Table 2 and the diagnostic lights are in Table 3.

My Dell 100L will not switch on and battery will not charge.

since the LED is orange it might be a ram issue. try to locate the memory modules in your computer then try to reseat them. or if you have 2 ram modules try to remove 1 first then try to turn on the laptop check if it will do the same thing. then try removing 2 ram modules check if it will beep. if no beeps ask for mobo replacement. if it has beeps take note of the beep codes.

I had 1 long beep, 3 faster beeps, then 2 beeps *I think*, and also my fan was going crazy fast - like someone else said "a vacuum cleaner"...
Well, I reseated the memory and problem was gone - it did seem like the memory was kind of "loose" - perhaps from shipping (bought this used).
The link to Dell's website was good for the beeps AND the "ABCD" codes reading on the back. Thanks very much! God Bless.

Gx 280 will not post

The most likely cause is the RAM is not compatible with the motherboard.
