Mad Dog Multimedia Dominator FX 5600 is dead

My Mad Dog Multimedia Dominator FX 5600 has been working for sevela years without any problem. It suddenly quit working (No video out). I confirmed with a different video card that everything else (Motherboard, CPU, etc) works fine. I know it has th lifetime warranty. How can I get the life time warranty?

The company has went out of business. Sad to say but you'll have to purchase a new video card. Sorry.

I have the Mad Dog GeForce2 MX400 card on my Windows XP system. When I attempted to install Window 7, it would not recognize the card and installed a default VGA driver. Are there updated Windows 7...

Sorry to say, no. According to NVIDIA this is a legacy product (older model). The most current drivers offered by nvidia are for windows XP back in 2006. You can check for yourself here:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

Your product type is "LEGACY"

Try a newer card and look it up at the manufacturers website. I love nvidia by the way ;)

I have a PixelView NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 (click on the link to see it) graphics card and my computer started doing very strange things with my video and was locking up my computer. I pulled the card out and looked at the capacitors on it and saw the tops of them were bulging and stuff was leaking from them. The capacitors are the green cylinders with the silver tops and the gold/yellow writing. I replaced the capacitors and that fixed the problem but it would be easier to just replace the video card.

3 seconds of video, then dark screen

Sounds like the monitor doesn't support the resolution being fed to it by the video card, experiment in the display setting with resolutions. Start low resolution and work your way up to what is comfortable and nice to work with. If the monitor does not like to display anything still for more than a few seconds, try upgrading all the drivers from the manufacturers web site.
