Question about GPS

3 Answers

I have a TomTom GO 930 and have just upgraded to version 8.301. Now I cannot access "Operate My Go" and a message saying " This function is not yet supported for your device or operating system" appears. Before upgrading I could access this facility. I happened on this site by chance and am hoping you can help because TomTom support, as I understand support,is practically non-existent. Kind Regards, Max Lee Perth, Western Australia

    The upgrade was online thru TomTom home. I have an existing SD card which only has music on it.

Have you gone through the reset operation of this device? If not, I suggest you do that first and then let me know if you can access "Operate My Go"

If you don't know how to reset the device, please see the following link
http://uk.support.tomtom.com/cgi-bin/tomtom_uk.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=9080&Lid=1

Let me know how this goes and we can work from there

Hi, the best solution is to rollback to your previous version. i would upgrade when the newer version is applicable.

Max,
Did your upgrade come with an SD card that was already programmed?

    Okay Max, No problem, remove the SD card that you have and RESET the Tomtom. Now, RESTART the Tomtom and try again. Let me know what you get.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have paired my blackberry with my tomtom go 930 the phones says paired but the tom tom can't seem to find the phone?

I detest cell phones, but here's how I got my wife's BB8100 and BB8800 to connect to my GO930:
1) Press the button with 7 dots in a circular pattern (Menu?);
2) Click "Options";
3) Click "Bluetooth";
4) Click "TomTom GO 930" (yours may differ);
5) Click "Full Menu";
6) Click "Options";
7) Change "Discoverable" to "Yes";
8) Press the button with the curved arrow (Return?);
9) Click "Save";
10) Click the curved-arrow button until the menus are gone.
The TomTom should now be able to connect to the BB.

Had to do something similar on the iPhone 4 before it could connect (haven't found a "Trust" option yet).

Error calling method on NPObject (TOMTOM GO)

Received same error when trying to operate my TomTom Go from PC. Fixed this by deleting (or renaming) file install.rdf. File can be found in Windows 7 in:
C:\gebruikers\username\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\Profiles\randomname.default\Extensions\Navcore.version@tomtom.com
Delete or rename the install.rdf file and try to operate your Go again from TomTom Home. It will ask to install some software, reply OK and you're done.

I have (had!) the same problem as you and I found this thread:
http://www.tomtomforums.com/tomtom-go-920-920t-930-930t-940-950/19455-remote-control-arrow-buttons-dont-work.html

I downgraded to the 8.302 version and the problem is solved!

Try to use another computer or another usb port for it. You could also try different usb cable that fit´s into tomtom´s connector.

Tomtom 930 does not find Iphone 3g bluetooth for connection.

The following has worked for me FLAWLESSLY :

1) Remove any old "pairing information" that you may have both on the iPhone and on the TomTom - both should be "clean" not knowing about each other..

2) Put iPhone into airplane mode.

3) Go to settings, and turn on Bluetooth

4) Do the regular "search for bluetooth device" and pair the two
devices

5) Turn off airplane mode

After I did this, I have never had a problem with iPhone 3GS / Tomtom - they find each other now every time, and all is happy..

Tomtom stuttering

TomTom Home now has a fix which corrects the stuttering problems with the computer voice needed for the 'text to speech' function on the GO720. Simply plug your device into your computer and have it connect with your computer. You should automatically see a large fix available which will correct the problem. Download it as I did, and the problem is corrected.
