My husqvarna 50rancher chainsaw wont start

It started after lengthy storage but wont anymore

Check your fuel make sure it is new fuel. Check to make sure that you have spark. Even replace the plug, for the price of 3dollars it is not a bad deal. If those do not work then you are going to have to check your flywheel and your armatur those are the items that would prevent you from firing since Huska makes a excellent carb you do not need to mess with it at all.     You are making sure that the flywheel is not cracked or broken. Also you are making sure that the armature is working correctly. So by spinning the flywheel by hand you will be able to feel if you get magnet contact at the armature

The flywheel has an alloy key moulded into it, check the key has not sheared and the timeing is now out,

Try bypassing the switch by connecting the two wires together. If it starts then you know what the problem is.

Hi, from what you have written I believe you have a faulty cdi unit. Carbys don't generally run perfectly intermittently. To test the cdi theory, close the sparkplug gap to approximately half normal gap. If the saw runs fine you have a faulty cdi, shorting ht lead or stop wire. Regards Phil.

Try a new spark plug.If still does not fire you have a bad ignition coil.
