Hello,

I have found that most channels broadcast at different volumes, more so when it comes to commercials. Something I will never get used to, but we can do nothing about. You might be able to find someting in the audio menue of either your TV or Sound bar that will help some . . .

The Sound menu lets you adjust audio output. To access the Sound menu, press MENU on the remote, and then select Sound from the Main Menu. The following audio items can be adjusted:
Equalizer The five-band graphic equalizer lets you adjust the audio frequency settings. You can select one of the five-band Equalizer Presets or create your own personal preset.
Sound Preset Allows you to choose a specific Sound Preset. Press the right arrow to cycle through the options: Standard, Movie, Voice, Music and Personal.
Frequency Range Displays the different graphic equalizer bands set for each Sound Preset option. Choose a band and make adjustments. When you make adjustments, the Sound Preset option automatically changes to Personal. Press the left or right arrow button to select the frequency (100Hz, 300Hz, 1KHz, 3KHz, 10KHz) you want to adjust. Then use the up or down arrow button to adjust the level. When you're done adjusting the levels, press the MENU button to exit.
To view the frequency range of another Sound Preset option, press the right or left arrow until no band is selected and Frequency Range is highlighted. Then press the up arrow to highlight Sound Preset.
Sound Type Controls the way the sound comes through your speakers. The options available vary according to the input selected.
Mono (available for regular TV viewing only) Plays the sound in mono only. Use this setting when receiving broadcasts with weak stereo signals.
Stereo Splits the incoming stereo audio signal into left and right channels. Most TV programs and recorded materials have stereo audio. The word Stereo appears in the channel banner when you tune to a program that is broadcast in stereo.
Sound Mode Provides special processing through your speakers (depending on the setting you chose as your Sound Type). The available sound modes are:
Off Does not give any special sound processing.
SRS WOW Gives a surround effect with more bass. (available for models L42FHD37, L46FHD37, and L46FHD35) SRS TurSurround XT (available for models L42FHD38, L46FHD38, L52FHD38, and
L40FHD380) Dynamic Bass Improves bass output. Displays a choice list of available settings you can adjust: Off and On.
Balance Press the right or left arrow buttons to adjust how much audio is sent to the left and right speakers.
Auto Volume Level Reduces the annoying blasts in volume during commercial breaks, and also amplifies softer sounds in program material. Eliminates the need to constantly adjust the volume.
Internal Speakers Turn on or off the internal speakers. If you have a device connected to the AUDIO OUTPUT jacks on the back of the TV and you want to control the sound by the device instead, uncheck the box.
If you would like for me to send you the user manual, please send me an email to LBrown18062@hotmail.com. Put "RCA L46" as the subject and I will send it to you.

What is the problem with the Vizio TV volume, it seems that when I am watching a show the volume goes up and down; it just blast up, especially when commercials come on.

There is nothing wrong with your TV. The loud commercials are to catch your interest before you leave the room for another snack or beer. You are not alone here, all other brands of TV will act the same. You may opt into the menu settings and seek an automatic volume control for commercials. Many TVs will have one. Not all, but just some. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

I have a terrible time with the volume. One time

Every station is permitted to set their own volume based on federal guidelines. Ad space pay more money to turn up the volume so that when the commercials come on that they are screaming at you so you look at the TV.

Your brand of TV has an equalizer system to control the different Hz levels of sound. The following is a link to the manuals for the Hisense brand of TV:

http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/hisense/hisense_flat_panel_television_product_list.html

Under the Audio part of the menu system, there is a section called Equalizer. While the TV is on and functioning, change the settings until you are comfortable with what you are hearing.

Also, some cable systems allow you to change the settings for your audio. Since I dont know who you use, I can not comment on if they provide this service.

If I have helped you, please rate me as so. It allows me to help others.

Commercials come on and volume is louder than tv shows

Volume and video levels for live broadcast, as well as satellite feeds are preset at a master control panel prior to broadcasting. TV commercials are pre-recored via satellite feeds, on seperate equipment, where audio and video levels are set manually by a technician. These manually set levels are very difficult to match, since the levels on the master control panel change. When the master control technician switches control to mark, a robot, mark loads the commercial and it is broadcasted, hence the different audio levels.

Low volume on some channels

Well, some TV stations do broadcast at different volume levels. This is very noticeable when watching a TV show and the volume seems normal and then when a commercial comes on, the volume is very loud. They do this to get you to pay attention to the commercial. Another problem might be that you are adjusting volume from both your TV and your cable box. What you should do is make sure your cable box is set to "FIXED VOLUME" and then just adjust your TV volume. Fixed volume will have the cable box output only one volume level, letting the TV do the adjustment. Just go through your cable box setting and look in the audio settings. Hope This helps...

32 inch tv goes from normal sound during program to extreme loud

May be a defect but, if you notice the sound changes with different channels or movies or HD or Standard, look for a volume limiter control button in the menu setup under audio control. Sometimes the menu has a control that you can turn on to limit different volume levels during the shows origination.

Auto volume has little or no effect on loud commercials

This may not be a problem. I believe there is an audio effect used by video production houses to 'boost' the presence of an ads audio and this effect is not picked up by the electronic device's (in this case TV) volume stabilizing software. It is intentional by the makers of the ads.
A work-around could be to try different configurations on your TV's audio settings, such as just mono, or just 2channel stereo, or surround sound - on or off, increasing/decreasing bass and treble levels in different combinations.
The down-side to this is to get a comfortable, uniform level of volume across the board, you maybe sacrificing some sound quality - but, as with our eyes, our ears adjust well quickly (hence don't listen to too loud sounds) and what you may not like now, will sound ok tomorrow.
I can't tell if there is a fault or not, but this may help if you "trial" some options.

The TV should be under warranty. Send back. Sounds like the panel is faulty (half the value of the set).
