Pioneer DEH-P2000 - turns on but no sound goes through speakers

I recently took this CD player out of my '92 ford ranger because the transmission died on it and was going to put it in the '89 ford crown victoria i'm driving now. it has the same plugs as my ranger did so i pluged it in and it turned on but no sound is coming through the speakers. i know the speakers work fine because when the original radio is hooked in they work fine and i didn't damage anything on the CD player because i hooked it back up to the ranger and it worked fine. any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem with my pioneer - bought a car and the stereo doesn't work. it turns on and switches from radio to cd, but no sound.

SOURCE: i have a pioneer DEH-P3000

Hi nhmteam. I have the solution for you: 1. With your DEH-P3000 turned off, press your FUNCtion button. It's a tiny button towards the upper right of the faceplate. Hold it down until you "ALARM OFF" or "ALARM ON" on the display. Release the button. 2. Press the FUNCtion button again and you should see another feature. I don't remember how many features you need to cycle through, but keep releasing and pressing the FUNCtion button until you see "M-CD ON" on the display. If you miss it just keep going and eventually it will come back. 3. On the right side of your faceplate there is a button with 4 arrows. You will need to push the up or down arrow until the display reads "M-CD OFF". If your display already reads "M-CD OFF", kip to the next step. 4. Press and release the FUNCtion button again and you should see "AUX OFF" on the display. Again press the up or down arrow until the display reads "AUX ON". 5. Now, turn on your unit, then press the INPUT button until the display reads "AUX". You are now ready to use your iPod in the way you always did. Keep these instructions for the future since I believe every time you disconnect the unit from the battery the unit will reset itself and disable your iPod cord. Best regards - TomR

change out both the speed sensors for the transmission...when one goes bad the next will soon follow. A call to a parts store or ford center can get you the location of where they are located.

My car dies when i plug all my vacum hoses why?

Hi Rolando, Any leakage of air into the intake manifold will change the engine performance. As I do not know just what you have disconnected and what you have not, its difficult to advise what course of action to take. It sounds to me as if there are defective valves which need attention. If you let me know what you have done and not done, and what you have disconnected and reconnected and in addition tell me if you think you have connected everything correctly, it would be a major help, to you and me? PIONEER 300 WATT CAR STEREO AMP WIREING HOW TOO

depending on how many channels the amp is, you may not be able to hook everything up to it.

usually you have a separate amp for subs. 4 channel amp for the speakers in the car, and a mono amp for the subs.

To hook them all up to the same amp you would need an amp with 5 channels. It wouldn't work out right.

If you have a mono amp its only for subs.

If you have a 2 channel you can either hook it up to the rear speakers or bridge them to mono to run the subs.

you need a channel per speaker basically.
