Printer not printing colour (but colour settings are ok)
My printer started "beeping" at me and stopped printing. After some searching I found a load of discussion about the Waste Tank full error so I took the printer apart and put it back together. No more beeps so I printed a test page and although the text printed (in black), the Windows logo didn't print (in colour)
It's as though the colour cartridges don't exist!
Any ideas as to why the printer no longer prints in colour (I've checked all the settings and everything seems to be ok)

try printing a "Nozzle check" to confirm that both your black cartridges are working ok. One cartridge - the smaller (photo) one is used for printing photos on glossy paper. The second - bigger cartridge is used on plain (copy) paper. Sounds to me like your smaller (photo) black cartridge is not working. It's either empty or may need "Cleaning" or "Deep cleaning". In case you don't know...Nozzle check, Cleaning etc utilities can be found on "Maintenance" page in "Printer properties".
Here is what I've found out by trial and error.
Paper Roll Won't Load:
-Usually occurs when the roll is less than 50% full
-Printer will give the error "paper loaded askew"
To Correct This:
- Press and hold Stop until Job Cancel comes up on the
- Press Menu
o Scroll Down until Adjust Printer menu comes up
o Press right side arrow next to OK button
o Scroll down to Manual Band Adjust and press right side
arrow again (or select one of the other adjustments)
- Select Yes and press OK
- Load paper roll - make sure paper is straight
- When asked (printer will beep) select Plain Paper and
- Let paper load
- When printer starts to print press and hold Stop to cancel
- Paper should now be loaded
When all else fails load a new roll.
This would be a temporary solution until the sensor is fixed.
Hi, I'm Ian This may help. Clck on "Start" ,Printers and faxes, Right click on the printer you wish to use. (Usually the one with a tick as the Default printer) Clickon Properties, Print Preferences. Select the box "Print in Greyscale" and Black Cartridge only. Cick OK, OK to get out and then Print your subject.Your printer will now only use the black cartridge to print, Saving you loads because normally they use the colour cartridges also to print Black! Cheers Ian
