Hi there.
There are no region hacks for the ramone DVD player at the moment, although there will be shortly, you'll just have to watch this space.
If you really want to watch region free DVD's i suggest you download DVD Shrink and install it on the PC, pop the dvd you want watch in the DVD/RW, dvd shrink will remove region codes so can watch them on ANY DVD player (have a blank disk ready so you can burn the decrypted film on to) DVD Shrink is freeware and is not illegal, get it here:

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

I checked out Disney's Support page here's what it says:

What are "regional codes," "country codes," or "zone locks"?

Each player is given a code for the region in which it's sold. The player will not play discs that are not allowed in that region. This means that discs bought in one country may not play on players bought in another country.

Regional coding is not an encryption system, it's just one byte of information on the disc that the player checks. Region codes are a permanent part of the disc; they don't "unlock" after a period of time.

There are 8 regions (also called "locales"). Players and discs are identified by the region number superimposed on a world globe. If a disc plays in more than one region it will have more than one number on the globe.

DVD Regions:

  1. U.S., Canada, U.S. Territories
  2. Japan, Europe, South Africa, and Middle East (including Egypt)
  3. Southeast Asia and East Asia (including Hong Kong)
  4. Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean
  5. Eastern Europe (Former Soviet Union), Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia
  6. China
  7. Reserved
  8. Special international venues (airplanes, cruise ships, etc.)
Technically, there is no such thing as a region 0 disc or a region 0 player. There are, however, all-region discs. There are also all-region players. That is, some players can be modified to play discs regardless of the regional codes on the disc. The main reasons for regional coding are to prevent the theatrical release of a title in one region being jeopardized by imports of DVDs from other regions, and to protect the interests of foreign distributors.

So you won't be able to change the region code on this dvd player unfortunately. The only workaround I can think of would be using dvdshrink to make copies of the originals. The copies would be then be region free so that they will play correctly.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask, please don't forget to rate my solution.

Thanks!

Some dvd players do not give the option to change. I looked at the manual for this and did not see an option to do so.

Hi,

seems you haven't included the actual problem in the problem description.

The dvd player will only play the region of discs its set to. if you are on region 4 and you try to play a region 2 disc it shouldn't play. Please try a disc that is on the same region as the player.

Hello im triynig to look for a code for my ramone disney dvd player can u help me

I too have the Ramone DVD player and had quite a surprise the first time I popped in a PG rated DVD.
There is no mention of a parental code, turning it on or off or ANYTHING in the manual.
On another website, I found the code 1369, which seems to work. I taped it to the bottom of the really cool remote. Still found nowhere to change it, etc. Least you can watch your movie!

Try changing the system to whatever you use in brazil. In the us for example we use ntsc. Go to the menu, and see if its there. If not then there is nothing you can really do because diffrent system use a diffrent frequency altogether.

1369 is the code to allow you to play blocked movies although I still haven't found a way to change the level. You have to input the code each time.
