Should I consider waxing for removing hair in my area? As a man, I am not really familiar with hair removal procedures so I need some advice.
Waxing has
come a long way from the days that it was all sticky and messy. Now a wax
substance is applied and then pulled off using special strips and it leaves
very little mess behind. But waxing is
still a very painful way of removing hair and the genital area is the
most sensitive of them all.
Try waxing
another part of your body first before you decide if you can handle it.
As the hair on the bikini line is so thick - I think waxing is the best option. With waxing, the hair is pulled out from the root and over time it grows back thinner.
I use the
GIGI wax warmer as I found it really reasonable price wise and I think it does
a good job. Amazon are selling it for around $22, see the link below;
Tweezers are
good for small areas that need hair removal such as; eyebrows, nose, knuckles
and around the nipple area. But this
would be much too time consuming and painful to do on large areas of your skin.
That really
depends. I find that depilatory creams are a better option that shaving my
bikini line, which leaves the area stubbly and sore but it's not as good as
waxing which has a much smoother and longer lasting effect.
Using creams
is a good option if you don't have much time. The effects last for about a
week, but just be warned that the cream has a really strong and unpleasant
smell - so make sure you leave a window open.
Hair removal
on large areas can be quite a big undertaking. Make sure you know what's
involved and how quickly it will grow back etc before you commit. Shaving hair
is a cheap and good option but not for areas such as the back which are hard to
reach by yourself and very large in area to cover with a razor.
Most men opt for waxing when they want to smooth out their chests and back. Waxing is painful but very effective, but within a couple of weeks you will get re-growth.
; that
really depends which part of your body you were trying to remove hair from!
Tweezing is a great option for eyebrows. It's similar to waxing in that it
pulls the hair out from the root.
It's really
painful and you should dab some antiseptic on the skin before you start.
But it's
very time consuming, so it's a good option for eyebrows and occasional stray
hairs but I wouldn't recommend it for larger areas that need hair removal.
