Mine will turn on with either the controler or the power switch on the console but will not recognize the the light flash continuously on the controller. If I hold the power button on the controller, it does turn both controller and console off.

The light on the power brick is green.
There is no picture on the tv.
Have tried multiple controllers including the guitar and drums from Rockband2.
All controllers will connect to a different console without problems.
The console is the Xbox 360 Arcade console, owned less than one month.
    Have replaced all batteries.

its probably something youve done but can you take out the batteries on the pad and replace them, re-do the alignment on the pad and console then try again to see if that helps

When you press the button to turn on the controller, do any lights come on at all?

Its possible the ir board what could be faulty, your best best is to try and get one from ebay or on the net and replace it and see if that cures the problem. to remove the ir board simply take off the case then get a t8 screwdriver and on the front of the console clip off the small plastic cover and there is 3 screws holding this to the casing. remove them and pull off the ir board and replace it. put the console back together then try it again

hope this helps

My son has a xbox360 and were trying to get xbox live to connect and it wont we had it working just fine on his brothers hes not home so we hooked it up to the other xbox 360 and it wont connect

1 Disconnect all accessories and wired controllers from the Xbox 360.
2 Hold the "Guide" button down for three seconds on any wireless controllers, then respond to the prompt on your television screen to disconnect the controllers from your system.3 turn on the wireless headset by pressing the "Power" button in the center of the earpiece. 4 Press the "Connect" button on the front of your Xbox 360 system. 5 Press the "Connect" button on the wireless headset. The ring of lights around the power button of the Xbox 360 system should spin and blink once. One of the lights should remain lit up, indicating the port number that the headset is using. If you do not see any lights on the system, you may have a faulty wireless headset.6 Press the "Guide" button on your wireless controller to reconnect the controller to the Xbox 360 system. If you are using a wired controller, you can plug it back into the system.7 Press the "Connect" button on the top of your wireless controller to sync the controller with your system. You should see the connection light around the "Guide" button on the controller light up, indicating which port you are connected to. You should also see a corresponding port light in the ring around the power button of your Xbox 360 system 8 Press the "Connect" button on the wireless headset until the port light on the headset matches the light on the controller and Xbox 360 system. For example, if you are the first player, the light for port number one should be lit up on the Xbox system, the controller and the headset. When all lights correspond, your headset should be properly connected.
