Check the optical block repair at sony's warranty website...
Could be the problem they have been covering it under a recall of sorts. $1250 for the optical block and they are only doing it until the end of the year so don't waste any time

thats a common symptom for that model which is usually related to the optical block. Very exspensive repair. Check with a sony authorized repair center as Sony has recognized the problem and offer assistance with certain models yours may be one of the ones affected.

This model also has a paper filter for the Optic block that should be changed. No one ever said anything about it. shortens the life of the optic block if not changed.

Power error 6 times - 11V is low. - No picture/No sound

From my past experience, yes. Not sure about the 11v being low. My kdf 45 acted that way when the main lamp went out. Found a replacement on Amazon for around $45 and now good to go! So far about a year and a half. Have had to replace about 4 for friends and family so far with same symptoms. All worked great! http://www.amazon.com/F93087600-Projection-Replacement-KDS-R50XBR1-KDS-R60XBR1/dp/B005I4OLAS/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1386773721&sr=8-13&keywords=Sony+Sony+Kds-r60xbr2+bulb&tag=donations09-20

Sony wega KSD-R60XBR1 green screen that can not be adjusted no matter what input is used or adjustment through onscreen tv options. how do i knw if it is the color wheel, light engine, or just a bulb

Hi,
It is light engine problem in your Sony KDS-R60XBR2 lcd rear projection tv.
This tv does not have any color wheel because of its light engine technology.
Lamp is just light source that provides bright white light to light engine and its working properly.
Light engine will be replaced to fix green screen problem.

If you tv model is other than above mentioned, let me know to revise this answer.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

Picture color is off after circuit breaker tripped. Only blues and greens. Model SONY KDS - R60XBR2. Does the lamp do this when it needs replacing or could something else have blown when the breaker...

Sony TVs has an Optical Block issue. If there is an issue with the optical block, then there will be green, blue patches or tint on the TV display. Try resetting the TV to the factory settings and try Power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue still persists, then TV may require service. You can contact the Customer relations team and check for the available options. Sony had repaired free of cost for such issues. Hence, contact the customer relations.

I have a sony tv model (KDS-R60XBR2)That is flashing 5 red on the front panel. No picture no sound,I have tried reset through remote (display-5-Volume plus)still no screen . Any ideas? Thanks Ron

I had the same problem last year and when I contacted the Sony repairman he looked it up and said it was the fan. He said the red light blinks 5 times to signal the fan is blown.(According to their booklet). He came and replaced the fan and it was as good as new. Good luck!
