The TI83 does not have a computer algebra system, so you cannot solve algebraic equations for a variable. For that you would need the TI89, TI92 or higher.

Every letter on my key board worked the letter before the letter t will not work now.

1. Save your work.
2.Restart the computer.
3. If itdoesn't solve the issue get a can of compressed air and blow your keyboard, gentle with your finger nails do like if you are lifting the key as you blow it and it should remove any debris stuck under that key.
depending of your skills on computers I would take the keys off the keyboard and wipe it up.
If none of those options works your final choice will be replace the keyboard!

Error 1397.invalid drive "x":\

Anytime you are trying to install a program and it is giving you and error when trying to install saying error 1397 invalid drive "x":\ . (x can be any letter other c:). Adobe has this as a common issue when trying to install. This is most frequent with users that have multiple drive letters. They have multiple ways of fixing this problem. First go to start &gt; run &gt; type regedit. Once the box opens with the registry go to edit tab click find. Search for the letter you are getting the error for in this case x:\. The key you are looking for is usually located in the follow location HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows' CurrentVersion\ Explorer\User Shell Folders. Once this location is up on right side you should see a key with the letter that is causing you probelms x:\ right click on key and do modify and switch it to c:\. This should solve all your install problems. Sometimes a restart is needed after the modification.<br /><br />What causes this problem. This is usually happens when something has modified your registry and set this other drive letter to your primary drive. Changing the letter back to c:\ should case you no issues.<br />

My keyboard automatically typing letter y and '''''''''''''''''''''... continuously even without pressing my keyboard....

Sounds like a sticky key so just blow with your mouth where the letter is to loosen any dirt or get a knife or something flat and pointy and left the letter up. Does this work?

I found the "user's guide"

Some keys have a letter of the alphabet next to them. The letters are A, B,C,D, M, X, Y. They correspond to memory registers (memory locations) in which you can store values.
To enter a letter as when you are entering an expression with variables, you press the [ALPHA] key followed by the key next to which is the letter you seek. To enter letter A, You press [SHIFT] [(-)] if I am not mistaken.
If you want to solve an equation (solve for X by default) press SHIFT (Solve) not the = sign at the bottom of screen.

Hye mr expert...Here i have some question about my samsung netbook n220 series. For your info...actually this problem never happen before. The problem is some of my key not working & some of my key...

The problem with your Netbook seems to be that you have turned "NUMBER LOCK" or "NUM LOCK" on. This causes some of the letter keys, e.g U,I,O,J,K,L,M to be printed as numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5,6.

To turn this off, hold down the "FN" key (near the bottom left of the keypad) and then press "F11" and then release both keys.

Please try this and post back if you need further assistance.

How do you enter or solve for x? ex: 4/5 x = 6

Take the time to read the whole post. It explains the use of variables on the calculator. The use of the solve( function is at the end of the post.

The variables you have at your disposal in this calculator are
A, B,C,D,X,Y,M. All of them are accessed by pressing the [ALPHA] key before the key near which is written the name of the variable. You will notice that the markings of the symbols accessed with the [ALPHA] key are of the same color as that of the [ALPHA] key.
You will notice also that there are two = signs.
The one at the bottom right executes the command line. By pressing it you find the result of the expression just entered.

The other = sign is marked on the body of the calculator with the same color as the [ALPHA] key. It is located at the top left of the keyboard (excluding the row with SHIFT, MODE, the navigation buttons)

Example to enter X^2-2X-35=0 (not your expression)
Direct access physical keys are in [ ],
[ALPHA] (X) [X to power 2] [ - ] [2] [ * ][ALPHA][(X) [ - ] [3][5] [ALPHA] (=) [0]

Usually when you enter such an expression it is with the intention of solving it for X. By default X is taken to be the UNKNOWN. You will be prompted to enter the value assigned to any other letter symbol (Y, A,B,C,D).

So, if you want to use the Solve function, you press [SHIFT] [CALC] and the calculator will ask you a question: "Solve for X?" , and you press the = sign at the bottom right.
Then you will be prompted for any other non-X letter.

The letter "H" on your keyboard got stuck and it's like pressed down all the time. You can pop out the key then clean it. If the issue is resolved, you should not hear the beeping sound anymore when you boot up the unit. Or better yet, if your under warranty, contact Toshiba, 1-800-457-7777 and they'll be blad to repair your keyboard.

Hope this helps.

The problem could be that you have the Fn key on the lower left side of the keyboard remains depressed. Also try switching off the Num Lock . That should solve the problem.
