Dim Mode I have the kenwood DNX7100 and unit will not auto dim at night and has to be set manually. It is extremely diffucult the next day in day light to turn off. What can i do to make it operate with headlights? Second problem: How do you adjust the light on the dvd? At night this is to bright for the vehicle. Needs to be dimmed as well.

Make sure the orange wire with white stripe is connected to your dash illumination/parking lamp circuit. There should be a tag on it that says 'ILLUM' (unless the installer clipped it). That should dim the display whenever your lights are on.

If that doesn't do it enough I think your going to have to dial down the brighness - and that will do it for all functions.

    Auto dim works on all screens except the Navigation/map screen. Nav screen is too bright at night.

I have a Kenwood DNX7100 car stereo with bluetooth connection capability. The unit lost information on my Samsung U540 integration. Manual suggests hitting "Select" under the Setup Menu but this button...

First of all do you have a bluetooth kit for your head unit? if so ensure it is plugged in correctly. if it is, then you need to activate bluetooth on your phone and make it visible to other devices, once this is done search from the phone for the bluetooth on the head unit. It should read BT100 or similar. Once it has found it all you need to do is pair them normally using the code 1234.

Hope this helps

DNX7100 Security Code Password

While code request mode,point the remote control to the unit and enter this code 55222277or 552222777(depending the remote contro you are using)(try to press the numbers that faster you can) that is way you type KCAR from the remote control.
you will not see any change on the screen while you entering the number,only when you enter the last number the unit will go to standby mode.
if you make a mistake,reset the unit and start all over again.

let me know if works
thank you

The problem I had was with the remote control unit for the steering wheel controls. It shorted out. The head unit was fine. But, when the sterring control unit is shorted it also prevents the hand held remote from working.

It only goes down half way. You have to gently push it down the rest of the way to expose the SD card slot.
