Hello there

vanos sensors need replacing.

If its an M52 engine, single Vanos (E36) then one sensor, if it's an M52TU (E46) then you have the twin Vanos and both the sensors need replacing.

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.

The lens mechanism could be jammed and cause a failure of the lens control system. You can remove battery and card replace battery and while switching on tap the lens hood on your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre., being an expensive camera
get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the Casio service as you do not have to run around for spares.

How weather resistant are the exilim ex-Z700 cameras?

Hi there and thanks for coming to FixYa.

This is a tough question, and the last time I tried to answer one just like this the person gave me an inappropriate rating (guess it wasn't the answer they wanted to hear)!
Anyway, if your camera is working, then I don't see spending the money to have it checked. Just take a soft cloth and wipe off the lens glass and the glass on the viewfinder. You should also take an air compressor if you have one, or maybe you can use a friends, anyway, put the nozzle up to the camera and run it around the space between the lens to clean out any dirt or yuk that may have gotten in there. That is your best bet to prevent the lens mechanism from locking up on you. Good luck. If you have any other questions, you can leave me a comment.

Casio exilim EX-Z700 lense won't open to take pictures

Hi there and thanks for coming to FixYa.
90 percent of the time, it's dirt, sand or grit that has gotten into the lens mechanism preventing it from opening properly. Try this:
Take an air compressor if you have one, or maybe you can use a friends, anyway, put the nozzle up to the camera and run it around the space between the lens and the camera to clean out any dirt or yuk that may have gotten in there. Best of luck. Leave me a comment if you have any other questions.

Flash "pop" up mechanism malfunction

Unfortunately it sounds like you would need a full service repair to fix this.

Your only other option would be to try to buy a broken xt from somewhere like ebay (one with a permanent error 99 say) and see if you can swap the flash mechanisms over. No idea how easy/hard this would be however.

Casio ex-s500 front facade around lens has come off

My wife accidentally dropped ours and the ring popped off when it hit the floor. It does just twist back on. You just have to get it lined up just right and then it will essentially snap into place. If you don't get the ring lined up right though it will just conitinue to fall off. I've had focussing issues with mine ever since the ring came off though.
