Gateway M320 USB Ports Stopped Working

All was great until the last time I plugged my blackberry pearl to sync with the computer. That was the last time my ports worked. Tried removing and re-installing ports on system hardware. deleted the ports and re-booted. Windows shows the ports are working great! They are not working at all. Completely re-installed windows from scratch. This is a hardware problem for sure. Is there a fuse or reset?

Just in case, Microsoft has a downloadable fix-it for non-responsive USB ports. Not sure if this will help, but might be worth a shot. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page for the download button:

Suddenly my RIM Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220 wont stop vibrating???

Remove the battery for 10 seconds, then reseat it and start it back up.

First, download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=DA5FB46338C8C0DCB1039F7898184FC5

Once installed, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB sync cable. Open Desktop Manager, and click the Application Loader. On the right, you will see Update your device software. Click the Start Button, and if your BlackBerry is not on the latest Handheld Software, an update will appear. Select the update, and run the install. Be sure to select the option that backs up and restores your data. Once started, do not shut down your computer, or disconnect the USB sync cable as this could damage the device.

Once completed, your BlackBerry will restart and you will have the latest version available. This version has been known to correct various issues.

Gateway USB ports stopped working

So maybe you need to install the drivers for the USB device you are trying to connect. Also, with the computer off, try cleaning all USB ports and plugs. You can buy electrical cleaner in a spray can at Radio Shack. Let it dry thoroughly before powering up. But to me it sounds like a driver problem. Unless maybe your USB BUS is going bad.

2 of 4 USB Ports Not Functioning

Most likely a motherboard problem, though you can try and re-do windows, best bet on getting it all to work is Turn off CPU, Unplug Power cable, And all usb devices, let it sit for about 20mins. Plug it all back in. Turn on the CPU! Though this might really get on your nerves having to do this multiple times, id get a new motherboard.

You may need to clear out the calendar database first on the BlackBerry device, and then try to synch again. Do the following:

1. Connect your BlackBerry via USB.
2. Open Desktop Manager and go to the Backup and Restore option.
3. Select Advanced.
4. The Desktop Manager will show the device databases on the right-hand side.
5. Scroll down and highlight the entry that says Calendar, then click on the Clear button.

Once Desktop Manager has cleared the calendar database try to sync again.
