Question about Car Audio & Video Accessories

CD eject button stuck in. Tape won't eject either

Problems started with the volume control being erratic and nice CD's skipping and sound scratchy fuzzy. I got angry and punched the dash, now the eject button is stuck and pushed back. The one CD stuck in there will play, but it's getting old. The tape player won't play or eject the tape, it acts like it wants to but gets caught up. $190 to fix it at a shop, I don't have extra cash for that. Can I do it myself?

More than likely you broke the eject part of the board off of the rest of it, you could the radio out of the car and pull off the plastic front and taker a look

My clarion CD player in my Nissan Primera P12 2004 will not eject the discs can this be rectified and would it be expensive.

Hi.

Check first that it is not a single disk stuck inside.

Try pressing repeatedly the eject button on the on dash player while at the same time you start the stereo.

If that does not work you can try disconnecting the car battery to reset the unit, and then attempt again the procedure above.

Remember that you may be asked stereo code after disconnecting battery, have it ready.

If still no luck, then the unit must be removed from the dash to be taken apart, so to remove the stuck disk.

In that case the repair may require replacement of CD drive unit or front panel. When disk does not exject repair done from a local technician may be expensive. Usually better replacing the whole stereo unit.

Regards.

PS: Here the procedure above illustrated in detail. The procedure is described for home DVD players, but it is the same on any optical unit, including in-dash stereo. Naturally , since the unit is an in-car system, you do not have power cord, but you will need to disconnect battery to reset the system: player system won't eject disk.

The eject button on my VW RCD300 has stopped working, with a cd stuck in the player. Is there a manual eject button, couldn't see one when I removed the stereo.

I have the same problem. Don't know how to solve it but got the cd out manually. Remove the radio. The cover on top at the rear just pulls off. Unscrew the CD player section. You will see a small motor on the left rear corner. Attach some wire to a 3v battery and touch to the terminals on the motoer. This will eject the disc without damaging it.

Please help me, I have a 4 Runner 2003 that has a JBL CD Player and a Cassett player in one built in the dash. Both are not working: The CD Player keeps flashing (Error 3) when ever I put a CD in...

did the error code start with the tape getting stuck? i have heard that if you disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes it will reset the radio but make sure you have a code for it to unlock it it the radio has security. they say it starts working again if you do this. again this is just what i have heard a toyota tech say when i worked there. it may be that it knows it has a problem with the tape and keeps it inop, as far as getting the tape out, it either breaks the tape or the tape player or both. i worked at a car stereo shop for 10 years and very rare for both to survive.

'99 Mercurary Tracer cassette player problems...

The cassette adapters are notorious for getting stuck in the deck. More often than not its the wire that comes out of it that causes it. The cleanest and safest way to remove the cassette adapter is to remove the radio, take off the top and "Help" it eject with your fingers or some narrow tool that may get behind it to push it forward and out. If you dont want to take the deck out of the dash, you can try pushing the eject button while manipulating the adapter wire, but I dont recommend it. Its just better to take the deck out. Good Luck

Dvd is stuck in the player- eject button not working

have you tried to see if there is a reset button on your unit? if so then hold the reset button down for a few seconds and then try to eject the cd if that don't work then you might have to get the unit repaired also if you cross the yellow wire with the red wire behind your unit where it connects to your vehicle it will automaticly eject your cd when you turn it on.
