I have just about the same problem, when I put my new 2gb sandisk card in my camera (kodak easyshare c330) it claims that the card is full but when I put it in my computer it won't read it, the disk pops up (it's hidden until I pop in a card) but claims that there is no card connected =/

First of all make sure that the lock is not on.onside of the card, second if you have media center it should recognize most cards.but as for cameras most come with a cd,you should install it if you have,nt already done that,3 the camera could be full depending on the settings it is on the type of media you stored on the card, but some dont show a name just removable on my computer in the start up menu, and just double click all of the removable media icons, and when you double click make sure you click on open.and also if you do not have any print programs you need to install one, because that will help recognize cameras and memory sticks.good luck hope i helped.

I just bought a new sandisk 4GB card for my p880 kodak. Wnen inserted the new card camera screen says card is unusable, insert new card. I have followed instructions for formatting on my PC, but still get...

The P880 works with MMC and SD cards. Your new 4GB card is an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. The camera is limited to working with cards 2GB and smaller.

It will not format a 4gb SanDisk SD card

Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. The DX6490 works with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to go with SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Will not format sandisk

It might be an incompatible card. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible. Anything over 2GB is an SDHC.

Need to know what memory card can i purchase and where for kodak easy share c530 my camera is old haven't used much I have a 1.0gb sandisk can i use a 2gb sandisk.

I had a look and it seems 1GB is about the Maximum? yes Sandisk is a good brand. Frankly anything that works well is OK.
Buy a good brand of card ... SanDisk is my favorite.
Kodak would certainly be a good choice too.
Don't buy it on eBay, as there are too many counterfeit cards available on eBay.

A Tip:
If you use a card reader, you will need a SDHC card reader if you use a SDHC card.
Most older card readers can not read a SDHC card.

Tip number 2:
Always format a new card with the Camera before taking any pictures.
You will find how to format with the camera in the camera User Manual.
