P4m800-m7 problem it was working good awhile ago, but when i tried to reformat another harddisk, i removed the ide cable from the hardisk installed there, and put it to the hard disk that im going to reformat. The pc opened but there's no video. i tried to place the memory to another pc and its working. i remove the cable connected to video card and inserted it to the built-in video, but still it opens but with blank black monitor. i tried to use other memory but the problem is istill the same. testing its memory, i inserted it to other pc and it worked. i turned the pc on again but still, the screen is sitll black all over. what could be the possible problem of this, am i going to buy a new motherboard then?

Hi there
Remove the video card from the machine and connect the monitor to the on-board video, then reset the CMOS p4m800-m7 problem - 3d40258.jpg, you will see a plastic jumper like the one in the picture near the battery, move it to the other position and power up the PC (nothing should happen which is good) then put the jumper back in the original position and power the PC up again. Hopefully the problem will be sorted and the problem was the video card.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

Your mainboard supports P-IDE and SATA drives.

A large ide drive, is hard to find, but a sata drive does
come up to 3 tb.
But it depends what windows system you have.
Windows xp, supports up to 2 tb, with the latest service pack installed.

Good luck

Hello !
You have said that you have done installation and Harddisk are not recognised this is a indication of damaged Harddisk ie its registry is bad or its not working .
I recomend a new Harddisk then you will able to use your laptop
Before you change the harddisk you should check the IDE cables by swapping them coz sometimes they could be faulty, connect new cable to the harddisk then on it try installation again .

Good luck

Hi, A couple of things to check/try: 1. Make sure your video card (if using one) and the memories are properly seated to their slots. Do an R & R (remove, reinstall). It might also be a good idea to clean the little gold edge connectors; 2. Reset your CMOS/BIOS by using the onboard jumper near the battery. Restore to original position after reset; 3. Double check your master/slave jumper on both the HD and CD; Hope this be of some idea/help. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
