Blocked calls? Help! When the admin attempts to transfer a call, it's going straight to my voicemail, giving her a blocked call message. I've called into voicemail and verified it is going to my extension and not the voicemail. Any advice??

A couple of things, but first. When you TRANSFER a call to your boss using the transfer button, he key to getting rid of the call is to hang up. But that's not your problem. When we install voice mail systems, we reserve 3 buttons; one for VM TRANSFER, one for 2 WAY TRANSFER, and one for VM RECORD. It's easier to link you to the OM of a TDA system than explain it, so here's the link http://www.public.carl.airpost.net/Pana/TDA/200_TDA_OM_06-121.pdf

Pdf page 170 will give you the table for setting up your 94,91 and 90 codes for the above features.
Basically, you press PROGRAM, the button, and dial, for example, 94 500 SAVE to store the VMT . You use it by pressing that button while you on the call (no hold) and either dial your boss' extension or press his DSS button. If you use the 2-way transfer, you can actually put his number under one button and carry on a 2-way conversation with the outside party. Kind of like you would do with the old 'pink slip' messages.

HOW DO I GET RID OF "FORWARD ALL TO 502" (CALLS GOING STRAIGHT TO VOICEMAIL) IF I CANCEL DND "DO NOT DISTUB" BY JUST PRESSING THE DND BUTTON IT STILL DOES NOT WORK.

All forwarding can be cancelled by dialling 600, (with your handset down) you then need to re-enter a forwarding to transfer calls to your Voice Mail. Please kake a minute to look at the video I have uploaded for you, hopefully this will help you. There are more like this which include Voice Mail admin on YouTube search 'abbeytel'. or visit www.abbeytelecom.com.
I hope that this is of some use to you

My message light is still on after erasing the voicemail message. What can I do to turn the light off?

is the nec dsx telephone voicemail light red or green...?
if it's green, it's not the voicemail light, rather, it's the caller id missed call indicator. just look through your missed calls and it will go out... or if you have the admin software, go to class of service, station, and disable the caller-id alert lamp.
free download of admin software at our website http://www.nec-dsx.com

When call goes to voicemail, it says call being transfered

I understand that you would like to bypass Auto Attendant for your lines.
On extension 10 or 11
Feature 00
Left Intercom, Left Intercome
#208
Line 01
Enter your extension number
#208
Line 02
Do the same for all of the lines.
Go to your extension to program a voicemail cover button. Without it being on voicemail wont pick up
Press Feature 00
Select a button and call it Call Cover press it
Enter Feature 15
Feature 00
Press that button so the green light lights up.
Test.

Direct transfer

Selector Code 1 and 2 have to be deleted or disabled from Auto Attendant.
Login to your voicemail admin box, go to Auto Attendant menu--- selector code assignments are in there.

Voicemail won't allow recording transfers back to receptionist!

Are the mailboxes set up?? What happens is a call goes to an extension, there is one program set to tell the system that if a call rings 4 times, go here(voicemail). Once it goes there, the voicemail system sees that there is or is not a mailbox matching that extension. If there is, the call goes to voicemail, if not, it transfers to the operator.

OR.....Does your system display the correct time? Its possible that the phone system lost its programming, and doesnt know where the voicemail is.

Both might need a professional tech on site...a bit too hard to help over a forum.
