Restoring your laptop to factory settings can take up to an hour to perform, depending upon the type of laptop and operating system on your machine. Prior to performing a system recovery, you should remove any external peripherals, such as ExpressCards, PC Cards, and USB-connected printers and hard drives. Turn on the laptop. Press the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" screen appears. Select "Repair Your Computer" using the arrow keys. Press the "Enter" key. Choose your "Language," then "Next." Login with an administrator-level username and password. Click "OK. Select "Dell Factory Image Restore," then "Next." Tick the check box next to "Yes, reformat hard drive and restore system software to factory condition." Click "Next." Click on "Finish" after the computer has concluded the factory restoration. b> Restore on an HP b> Insert the HP recovery disk. Restart the computer, and press the "F11" key. Press the "F" key to "reinstall factory settings." If your computer's operating system is damaged, you may only see "perform a full system recovery" as an option. In this case, press "R." Insert any disks if prompted by the restoration program. Otherwise, permit the computer to restart as needed. b> Restore Via Disks (Generic) b> Insert the "Recovery Disk" or "System Recovery Disk." If you have more than one disk, make sure you insert "Disk 1" or "Part 1." Press any key to boot from CD if prompted to do so. Choose a "Full System Restore," "Restore Factory Settings," or another option worded similarly. Confirm that you want to perform the restoration. Press "Next," "Yes," or "OK," as needed. Press "Finish" or "Restart" when prompted by the computer. Hope this helps.

then acceseries
then system tools
then system tools
then it will run you through wizard in which yo can select the previous date to restore the settings

First you need to check your firewall status whether it is blocking the yahoo messenger or not.
Secondly you can check other settings in your anti-virus which may be blocking the messenger due to some clauses.
You can also try a system restore if you have created a restore a point.

This may happened if you have deleted the Yahoo Messenger Icon from the Desktop, you can create a shortcut again by clicking Start and type as Yahoo Messenger in the search box to locate the Yahoo Messenger Icon, then right click on the Yahoo Messenger Icon>Send to >Create Desktop (CreateShortcut). your operating system is already corrupted. you need to restore your computer back to factory settings. all files will be erased if you restore it. press and hold thee FN key then press the power button to perform dell pc restore.

Try to restore your window to back date if you using window xp go to start then all programs then select accessories go to system tools and select system restore a new window appear select restore my computer to earlier time, press next then select which date you want to restore your computer, press next again, this will restore your computer to a earlier date do not worry about your data this application restore only your window settings

Yes it is safe, you can not do any damage by restore to factory default go for it [email protected]

System restore: Click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore. Follow all prompts.

Remove printer: Click Start, Control Panel, Printers. Right-click Printer you want removed, then left-click "Delete".

If you restore the computer to a point in time BEFORE you installed the printer, you can skip doing the remove printer option I wrote above.

Those fixes can be done one-handed (with your mouse).

I had the same problem... I have a Dell Inspiron B130 Laptop. The only thing that worked for me was to do the following: Click START click CONTROL PANEL click ADD AND REMOVE PROGRAMS scroll to Yahoo Messanger, click on it, and it should have a option to repair. Click on that, and follow the step-by-step instructions. GOOD LUCK!!!

Before installing Messenger again, uninstall messenger, and do a system restore to a date before you installed messenger for the first time.
